Would rather a player who didn't score but is able to do their midfield duties, like passing and holding onto the ball which would enable our other players to play better.

He was crap today but this is a weird line of thinking when the whole aim of football is to score goals, yet you actively want an attacking player to not score?

He should be capable of doing both. He's as culpable as many others for being a passenger this season so far but recent form suggests he's not the main issue. Picking up goals recently and then has one bad game.

No doubt if he wasn't scoring there'd be plenty (perhaps yourself?) complaining that he doesn't score enough.

Not what I said, him scoring is obviously a positive but I think we would be better off with a midfielder who is more rounded and if that requires a trade off in goals then so be it. Even when Reid scores he usually does play well, same with the rest of the team when we win (which in my opinion is a result of having Reid in the starting lineup).

Saying the aim of football is to score goals is a bit reductive, if that was the case every team would play 11 goal scorers. In reality football is a defensive game, the majority of players on the pitch are not there to score goals, they are there to maintain a structure that prevents the opposition from scoring.

The majority of the best midfielders in history, Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, Modric, Kroos are not goalscorers theyre there to facilitate other players. By playing a player in Reid who might nick us a goal every 3 or so games but cant keep a hold of the ball and struggles with passing we're exposing our other midfielders and our defence.

We would be a lot better off with Page or Braybrooke playing instead of Reid, as we saw when Page came on today and we were able to actually spend some time in the opposition half. They might not have the shooting technique or movement in the box that Reid has but at least we won't be as much of a mess as we were in those first 70 minutes today.

Yes I have probably criticised more technically gifted midfielders like Winks or Soumare for not scoring but they also lack defensively. We have too many midfielders who are one trick ponies and not enough that can properly general the midfield and make us a strong unit.

The problem is games away at Bramall Lane, playing Reid is probably a luxury that we can’t afford.

We are so weak defensively, going 433 with a solid 3 at CM would be a much better option.

I know he has scored some great goals but he is as aggressive as a wet lettuce in attack. I am never quite sure what position he is playing in as he seems to go anywhere but where the action is. The biggest turning points for us in the past were bringing players like Lennon, Savage, Izzett, Kante,Huth and Morgan in who were triers till the death, sad times.

I turned off after an hour but god he was bad yesterday. How many times can a player be dispossessed?! Should've been hooked at half time.

He just seems too lightweight to play in the number 10 role and also struggles to go 90 minutes. He can score goals very cleanly though and is a great option later in games. With Ramsay injured I don’t think the club has a solution for this position and needs to strengthen urgently.

A weird player, scores some goals at championship level but doesn’t offer much else if that makes sense?

if we had a competent director of football I’d be looking to sell him whilst his stock is sort of high and get someone else in but obviously that isn’t the case so we’ll be keeping him

Keep picking merceneries. They will keep letting you down. Braindead to go in for that challenge. Clear red.... then laughing and joking on the way off. Another one here semi-retired. Picking up a pension boost. I hope he never plays for us again.

Not a great start to king's managerial start, that's for sure. Wtf goes through these players minds. Ricardo brain fart, and Bobby too. In one half of football. They should be punished because it's these moments that are going to get us relegated!

Jus an absolute brain dead challenge from an experienced player, who rarely makes a sliding tackle anyway! It's genuinely  unfathomable.

Finally seen the action replay of the red having thought it harsh seeing it live. It would definitely be worth appealing it. It doesn’t hit the usual criteria for a red. Studs were up but the tackle was low and there wasn’t much force. This would not have been a red in the prem, particularly because of the height. The players’ reaction got the red from a poor ref.
