For me the watershed moment was when he came on at Norwich, along with James’ phenomenal effort that day he changed the game and has pretty much carried it on since. Had seen little from him before that. Will be interesting if Ramsey becomes fit and available but they are the selection problems you don’t mind having.

He'll have his work cut out because most have already made their minds up about him.

I still don't agree with the purchase, but he's due a lot of praise with his turn of form.

Hopefully the form remains. Don't think Ramsey will be a threat, he'll be back in the treatment room before he wins back his spot.

He wasn’t a purchase.

Obviously we don’t know the finances involved but it seems a very Pearson like free transfers. Yeah he didn’t do anything last season in that dire team but he is strong at this level.

Absolute belter of a strike. Although the goal was early he'd already given the ball away a couple of times. But after it, class game and got in the right positions for our attacking play.

Seems to be playing with a lot of confidence in that CAM role.

I agree. He seems to enjoy it as well. 3 goals in 3 games is impressive.

Always had it in his locker, did well at Fulham over the years. Think he just needs a bit of confidence and a kid up the arse and he’s a good player at this level

Think he is such a solid player, at this level clearly way better than any given opposition week in/out, and last year he really wasn’t that bad, was really shopped in with the role we asked him to play. He was never going to be a Fatawu/Mavididi/Monga type, not his game. If we were to go up next year or two he would be a brilliant squad player if we don’t try to make him an isolated winger. Glad he is showing his ability, he was not a bad signing last year but was used so awfully, like asking Jonny Evans to play the JJ 8 role

Rep point given for not calling it a fckin ‘number 10 role’

If you can’t see that was a typo and supposed to be KICK - I’ll leave it unedited for the laugh.

think the problem then was that he's not much of a winger, particularly when none of our full backs have the athleticism to support the winger. Playing in the 10 though he's pretty damn good.

Yeah, sometimes it's just about playing someone in their best position.

Hopefully the rest of the team have also had some time with a baby goat and we can make a charge for automatic promotion!

I was so wrong about him. tbh I couldn't see the point in him.  But he is good (at this level). Thank heavens I (or anyone else on FT) am not the manager.

To be fair he was signed for the Premier League and was a pretty poor recruit and a player with low future potential or resale value. The club have now dropped down to closer to his level.

Not his fault and all he can do is prove his worth as Vestergaard did last time we were relegated. It’s good that he’s found a role that hopefully he can excel him. Let’s see if he can keep it up.

I don’t think we need to revise our assessment from last season. He could become a valuable player for us this season, however, and he should only be measured against our short  term aims. Not being good enough for the PL is something that can be levelled against the majority of players in the Championship

Fair play. I’ve noticed recently the media referring to a ‘number 8 role’ and even a ‘number 6 role’. WTAF!? Grow up!

Actually a really intelligent footballer. Drops into some clever spaces to support when we’re struggling to play out and gets beyond Ayew when he drops deep.
