Popular Post Paninistickers Posted 19 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 19 May 2025 Find it insulting that he's even remotely tarred with the BdcR brush. He's a useful, niggly, clever player. He's a bit quicker than he looks too. 5

honeybradger Posted 19 May 2025 Posted 19 May 2025 I dont see what everyone else is seeing to be honest. Maddison used to get dogs abuse for slowing down play and playing for fouls like Ayew does but for some reason it's considered good play when Ayew does it. Just shows how 'beige' players like Ayew are viewed differently to players with actual ability due to not having as much expectations on him.

But in the context of this season and hideous, weakling garbage like BdcR, he's ok. Certainly not worthy of the opprobrium he gets from many
Popular Post Jobyfox Posted 19 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 19 May 2025 I think sometimes people miss the point on Ayew. There are far worse players who have played for Leicester than him. That is not in dispute. At his absolute peak he was an average player in a poor/average Premier League side. As soon as Crystal Palace had aspirations of mediocrity they quickly got rid of a now ageing player well past his prime. He was never going to make a difference in a squad desperate for a sprinkle of quality to stay in the Premier League. That much was obvious before he signed. At least a gamble on a younger player would have given us hope even if it ultimately didn’t pay off. Ayew delivered exactly what was expected - performances that would never be good enough to lift a poor team. He was and is a shockingly bad signing, a waste of a squad place and a waste of money. Not the worst player in the team by any stretch, but a signing symptomatic of the muddled mismanagement that we’ve now come to expect from the club 16

He is not the worst player, but in terms of a bit of business it's absolutely abysmal. It's quite telling really that the same Crystal Palace side we saved a load of money for have gone on to win their first trophy ever while we collapse to another abysmal relegation. I just hate how normalised this shit has become now. 7

Popular Post roblcfc84 Posted 4 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 4 June 2025 Think the hate for Ayew is OTT, he’ll do a job next season and did more last year than a lot of others…100% better than Daka. 5 1
teblin Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 I think he'll be ok to have around in the squad next season, far bigger issue than him. 1
splinterdream Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 Ayew is limited, that's all you can say about him. Wouldn't arsed to see him as a squad player but if hes on a packet and we can move him on then its for the best
Foxin_Mad Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 Jon is working on a new 3 year deal for when Jordan is back off his holidays, Rudkin believes he is a strong professional to build his team around.

Being a forward that has never scored many goals is not a strong selling point. Thank God we've got Daka for next year 🤔.
Popular Post Finnegan Posted 4 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 4 June 2025 All jokes aside, I'd resigned myself to Ayew being in the squad next year and I was comforting myself by saying at least he works hard, tbf. He doesn't seem too pretentious, he grafts, he seems pretty honest. But having read that and hearing himself, literally one of the reasons we got relegated, trying to put himself in the shop window like he thinks he's better than the club? Get the **** out you absolute ****. 8
Stadt Posted 4 June 2025 Posted 4 June 2025 The whole transfer has gone down exactly how I expected it to. Overpaid on the fee, big wages, too long a deal, not actually any good, bloated the squad and is a burden in the Championship. Now he thinks he's too good for the Championship! Fatawu's attitude on the other hand is absolutely first class, we probably overpaid slightly for him (given his standing), his wages will be lower, works hard and has great technical ability. Being so manager-led on recruitment's means we don't back our winning picks. 4
