Sad reality is that to get back (and then move forward) on a better financial footing we’re going to have to revert to buy/promote > develop > sell for profit. Given away far too many assets (financial, debatable if some were footballing assets!) on a free in recent years. Kasey this summer appears a great case study of this, but in the future if/when it happens to Monga and/or Fatawu it’ll just be our position in the football hierarchy. Key is then to repeat and not shift the model.

Need Seagrave to keep putting out assets, that and worldie scouting are the keys to success

Not that it means a great deal but Transfermarkt now values Monga at £5m making him the most valuable 16 year old in world football :appl:

Until New Years Eve when Dowman turns 16 anyway lol

Shushhhhhhh...miles better than Dowman anyway

There's every chance, on their current trajectory, they both make the 2030 world cup squad. Crackers.

I'm blue through and through but its clear Dowman is going to be a generational talent like Rooney (just different position)

He should but he’s still got to go through the monetisation stage of his career development.  Much will depend on his mentality and his family influence.  Plenty can still go wrong for him. (And for Monga)

Dowman looks a very good player already, but I already can't stand the lad lol

I think I've seen about 8 highlights of him and 3 or 4 have been him getting into the box, kicking out at the defender and falling over in an attempt to win a penalty.

Definitely been watching Vardy with how he dives around the box haha

Monga was doing it a bit in pre-season as well

Same with a lot of extremely talented youth players. Very tight control and fast feet means you get fouled a lot.

His highlight reel v Spain last week was impressive. They absolutely targeted him - I think 12 fouls in the first half!  The message will go out not to try and tackle him in the box because his quick feet and shoulder drop are ridiculous.

Legitimate fouls are fine, like you say, it's to be expected. Kicking your leg out to initiate contact isn't the one for me though.

Lot of boys learning from Vards and Grealish no doubt haha.

I think a lot of times kicking your leg out won't result in a penalty with VAR.

But IMO if a defender lunges for the ball and doesn't get it a striker is well within his rights to fall over their leg.

Id bet my bollocks Arteta tells him to do that.

Got a feeling he writes his name in folklore this Saturday vs Coventry. Born in the area, came to us at a very young age, scores an absolutely ridiculous winner and doesn't even smile. The lads not bothered mate.

There needs to be a chant about monga and everyone doing the conga and then we all conga around the KP and then Monga scores and the players replicate what they've seen in the stand, all conga-ing around the pitch; aside from one person (Ayew) who has to stay in their half to prevent them from kicking off whilst we're conga-ing and scoring the most Cov goal ever. Afterwards, players and fans alike can conga all the way to the High Cross wetherspoons and Monga can get them in (I don't expect he's on a fortune just yet, so we'll leave Fat Cats and The Terrace to the established pros). I just can't be bothered to write the rest of it. And I'm not going to the Cov game. I can however contribute the following rhymes:

- Wonga

- Longer

- Stronger

- Wronger

- Belonger

Just need players that rhyme with Agadoo, Locomotion and Macarena now; since I have plans for those too. I won't give them away yet though.
