Think giving a new manager the international break would have been preferable, but this is preferable to continuing. Hopefully a new man in before the Brentford game.

His appointment is all on the board. They got it wrong. He may have been a nice guy by to go form Enzo to Cooper is one extreme to another

Surprised it happened so soon as normally like to wait until it’s too late. Needed to happen though. Next appointment will be the most important we have made for a long time and we can’t afford to get it wrong

Makes the decision to give him the international break all the more baffling. This club man

First game in at home to Chelsea? Nah.

Glad they’ve made the decision. Gives us enough time at least. I have full faith this squad has enough to stay up. Just not with cooper in charge.

Wish no ill on the bloke at all, just wasn't of the standard we're going to need to stay up.

We're in quite a strong positionn here compared to the summer- points on the board, out of the relegation zone and a bit of money to spend in January by the sound of it. Certainly shouldn't be scraping the barrell again.

Thank the ****ing lord. One of the worst managers in our history. Genuinely awful. Don't let him near another football team. Except coventry.

I’d be really surprised if we didn’t have someone preferred who’s now available to make the call this quickly. Personally thought they keep going with him until Xmas.

I am surprised l thought he have the two home games coming up, phone just went off from the club app, with it on, came on here for the reactions.

Amazing news and credit to the clubs decision makers for acting quickly and decisively, which they haven’t always done in the past. Let’s hope we already have someone lined up and move quickly as really cannot  afford to gob into the next couple of fixtures with a relatively inexperienced interim team in place.

personally I think it will be RVN

Not before time.

Hopefully the next manager is already lined up and we don’t spend weeks negotiating with the first, second, third name on our shopping list.

Let’s not waste time trying to charm Potter ….again.

Wolves, Palace and now Southampton seem to have woken up and found some vibrancy and confidence. That’s before all of them have a better transfer window than us in January. We really need a reset of approach to games

Top read this and it tipped the balance.

OK Southampton aren’t getting points today but tides are turning and we’re stood in quicksand.

Thanks **** for that, all the pissing and moaning can stop!

Can we already start a new thread calling for the new appointment to be sacked?

What a strange way to say brilliant news
