British punditry doesn’t extend past “current league position = wot do they expect!!”

And they wonder why more and more fan led accounts are growing. Why would I listen to a pundit who doesn't watch any of the games etc give an opinion based off of no knowledge

Always been a bellend and always had it in for us for some unknown reason.

He couldn't comprehend why Rodgers would want to leave Celtic for us mid season. Someone should remind him that Leicester got further in the Champions League than Celtic did in 40 years.

It's his job to be contrary and controversial for engagement. He replaced Savage in that space.

It baffles me people still fall for the trap.

Regardless, it's pretty common for pundits to all say the exact same thing about newly promoted sides.

I think he comes in and demands respect and the appointment should excite the players and bring back the morale.

Can't see it making a difference for Brentford, I think we'll get battered but then two back to back games at home and also Wolves at home before Xmas..  if the fans get behind the appointment and create an atmosphere too, we could get some much needed points on side before the Christmas fixtures against the big teams.

As much as Cooper needed to go, I'm shocked and delighted that we got it done already. Gives RVN a good five weeks or so to work out who fits in to the rest of the season and what he needs to bring in, in January to keep us up.. rather than what I expected.  Cooper to go shopping for shite and then sack him after January anyway.

Although it's still a mammoth task, I'm way more positive about our chances now. I mean even in the transfer market we should attract more players with Ruud than Cooper .. definitely excited by this

This is why I do find it pretty funny when people compare SAF with Guardiola. Many people that worked under Guardiola have gone onto be very good managers, whereas I'm struggling to name anyone that worked under SAF that has proven themselves to be a good manager.

I’d suggest SAFs greatest strength was in his man management and Peps in his tactical understanding of the game. It’s probably easier to learn the latter as we saw last season with Enzo.

Talk sport drive - Leicester fans wanted Cooper out because he managed forest. Such lazy analysis. I bit and rang up and they called me back but didn't manage to get on

Just can't get excited about this one, felt we needed a more experienced manager. Feels a bit Patrick Vieira to Palace, obviously hope I am wrong like with Enzo but underwhelmed.

Yup, the likes of Carragher have all been saying the same. I genuinely don't think todays 'pundits' actually watch games that don't involve the top 6.

To be fair, not everyone will watch us every week. On paper, as many have said on this forum, it look like a dangerously stupid decision. Position wise, we are fine.

Its the alarm bells that we as fans were seeing that someone not watching us closely wouldnt see. There was equal level of criticism when Brighton sacked Hughton. Saints sacked Adkins. Bournemouth did away with O'neil. etc. To be honest I probably thought at the time those clubs were wrong too. Each time they've proven the critics wrong. We were on a downward spiral and unless you were associated with LCFC, it wouldve been quite hard to see that.

Madness lol

Ah well, I'm happy with the appointment and look forward to seeing how it all pans out. Not that bothered about Saturday as I don't expect much in such a short time, but then two home games to make an impression would be a fab way to start properly.

Me too mate. Big week coming up!

A young ambitious manager….. what is zero long term vision about that?

You tell me what any of the managers we hire have in common. What is the clear strategy that we have that all of these managers fit into?

It's clearly a bit scattergun

Well, Puel, Rodgers and Maresca suggests a pattern...

They almost certainly don't. I listened to 606 on Sunday night and Chris Sutton admitted to one of the callers that he hadn't seen a full Leicester game this season.

Ex Chelsea FFS one league goal in 28 appearances before being flogged off to Celtic. A pundit and a poor one at that trying to make a point. The  old Chelsea legend has an issue with us for sure

Left because he felt he wasn't getting support from the Club......seems a man of principle!

6 players went to the board to complain about his performance. He had also apparently called out with both his assistants which was hugely affecting the mood.

Nothing to do with a lack of support (even if that's true). Reading that article, it's clear it was a case of mutual termination, where he'd actually been given the boot.
