Will take the win as it’s good for confidence. A poor 20 minutes after we scored, both of their goals coming from us giving the ball away. Winks both times I think. Second half, pure domination. Nice to see us score some goals. A game that’ll do Justin the world of good, too. El Khannous & Buonanotte are fantastic footballers. We’ve got to find a way to have them starting week in week out.

At the risk of being "I told you so", definitely stand by what I said earlier. Goals for Justin and Mavididi and eve Faes, really good for the collective confidence. 

 

I'd take that over a few token minutes for a youth player that still will barely get played this season after today.

good win and a decent performance imo

shame we still havent learnt in terms of causing our own problems 

 

hopefully a good confidence boost for them all

 

also play Facundo and Bilal on Wednesday

Great result, fog was terrible, there was a layer of ice on my seat it was that cold. 

Vardy struggled a bit today I thought, probably would have been best to start with Daka today to give Vards some rest. Better game from JJ, Winks had an off day. 

 

Soumaré had some 'mare' moments, but was OK. Ayew and BDR didn't seem bothered and I reckon didn't actually want to play. Well taken goals, let's hope this actually gives us some confidence to get a result on Weds

Good win, and a good performance -  I think. It was hard to tell, but the bits where the ball came out the fog and you could see it seemed alright. Apart from Pyramid Head scoring after that bad pass from Winks pass in the first half, Silent Hill Rangers didn't offer much of a threat, and deserved to lose.

I was there behind the goal. Horrendous and travelled back with two Exeter fans that insisted on stopping in a local pub after the match to relive it. I just wanted to get on the M5.

So pleased to see Ruud go full strength. I'll never be convinced about playing weaker squads in the cups. That win has got to be better for that set of players and the club generally as a moral boost, as opposed to playing a half and half squad, with QPR nicking it 1-0 aet. 

The only thing I would have done differently is include Alves, and for him to come on from the bench.

Other than that definitely the right approach.

It's got to happen, first game was in 1937 in the FA Cup 4th round. Second and third games were in 1981, again in the FA Cup 4th round. 1937 and 1981 is 44 years apart, as would be 1981 and 2025 :o

“A performance where you can score six goals is always a good performance. It’s not easy, especially against a QPR side that’s very well managed, on and off the ball and on a great run of form. To be able to score six against them is a compliment to the team.”
 

Full-strength team?

“I shared with the players that exactly six weeks ago, we started working together. A lot has happened. Immediately we have to step into the Premier League together, implementing new ideas, the way of playing, the way of training, the way of training, the way we do things in the different phases of the game, getting to know each other there and also off the pitch.

 

“I wanted to continue in that development with the team and not make too many changes in that sense. I feel we are in a process where we are getting better, doing things better, and in a certain way. That’s why I wanted to continue that.”

 

Everybody can go again vs Palace?

“When you have the advantage of being 4-2 up early in the game, you can start to take players off. That was a big benefit for the games to come. The triple substitution in minute 58, it means that we can keep players fresh and get others in good minutes. Kasey came back on after his injury, so that’s the complete package. I’m delighted with the game today.”
 

Vardy scored on his birthday - fresh for Wednesday?

“He gets older in numbers but he doesn’t look like he gets older! When I see him every day in training, the way he handles the 90 minutes over the past weeks… Today the 60 minutes were perfect really. He’ll be fresh again on Wednesday.”
 

Buonanotte and El Khannouss?

“The third goal I enjoyed the most. It was a great move with a lot of movement and co-ordination that we try to work on. When things come off like that, it’s a great satisfaction. Both players are young, very talented and gifted. Two assists for Bilal and Facundo with a goal and an assist on the free-kick, for them it was a productive day as well.”
 

Justin?

"I think JJ had some criticism and he handled it in the perfect way, not only by scoring two but having an excellent performance off the ball, on the ball as well. He deserves that. He’s very reliable in that sense of how he lives his profession, how he works and how he trains. I’m happy he could play like this today

"We can tell [you] things when it's 1000% sure on new players. At the moment, there's no news."
 

Want a new right-back?

"I've said before, I won't go into details on positions. It's important to keep those cards in front of you as a club and manager. When deals are done, the players can be presented, then it's the time to talk about it."
 

Growing more confident on deals?

“We're working on different possibilities, in different positions. Some are in different situations, but hopefully we can [get deals done]."
