Having done a good job at his two previous clubs, I reckon it's more likely that he's a decent manager, still young enough to be learning his trade and won't exactly have harmed his reputation on the continent by being sacked from a basket case club on the skids.

Still will find himself back on the European managerial circuit if that's what he wants. He may want to stay here because of his wife but with English football being such a goldfish bowl he'll already be being written off by loads of fans and clubs. Not sure there's a decent job about for him at the moment. Maybe Boro if Edwards goes to Wolves (can't see that one happening though).

I believe his wife is South (maybe even Southampton) based which made it an ideal job didn’t it? Interestingly that northern France where he has been working is probably more accessible to the south coast of England that northern England is (Middlesbrough).

You also find out people’s priorities and whether they drop a bit of a level in order for work/life balance.

Genuinely hope Norwich do turn us over.

I want this season to be as toxic and disastrous for the club as possible in the hope that it brings about some change.

Don't want to see a single player from this squad remain at this club next season, and Top needs to sell up and take the board with him.

We arent going to get promoted,  in fact I hope we don't because we're in no position to return to top flight football.

If something doesnt happen to instigate a drastic change within this club, we are just going to tip toe into oblivion.

I think realistically whatever gets rid of King Power the soonest is best for the long term future of the club.

Reckon that tweet could be used for us word for word in 18 months time.

I watched a bit of a Southampton podcast last night to get a sense of their situation, so much of what they said, was identical to what we’re going through right now.

Ownership failings

Poor recruitment(Not signing a proper number 9 their biggest issue)

A lack of the right mentality and leadership in the playing squad

In the cases of ourselves, Southampton and Norwich, I think we’re seeing what problems at board level can do to a club, constant mismanagement has finally caught up with those teams.

The current top 6 either play fast direct attacking football, or fast counter attacking football based on an organised defence.

Our owners and Southampton's owners are still stuck somewhere in 2021/22 when possession was trendy.

Christ even Pep (who pretty much sets these trends) has completely revamped the way Man City play now.

This 100% agree

There isn't a team in the Championship thst wouldn't finish bottom of the premiership

The standard is woeful but uts still more exciting than the dull premiership,  simply due to the fact its so open and the standard of defending is so low

We all said that about Sunderland though. It only takes 2 or 3 good signings, a run of form and maybe some luck.

Staying up for 2/3 seasons in the real challenge.

Why would you want us to failure. What evidence have u seen that anything would change if we when down!  It’s the fans that will suffer (suffer more) if we fail. I want us to succeed, because it will give us a better base to rebuild from

I want us to succeed, but that won't happen whilst we have the current owner & board.

It will need the majority of the fanbase to turn in order to drive any change.

To make the majority of the fanbase turn, things need to get ugly.

This club failing for the next couple of years would be short term pain for long term gain.

The clubs on the decline, bobbing around mid table wont change anything.

And if it's true that we play this way/hire coaches to play this way at Tops instruction then that's another complete red flag. The owner of a football club should have absolutely zero to do with the coaching/tactics/playing side of the club. If the silly bastard actually did his job of hiring competent people at all levels of the club rather than getting involved in the style of play, we may have been able to remain a proper football club instead of a complete circus.

They spent £165m

more than any European side apart from R.Madrid

A big reason to not get promoted whilst right at the spending limit, they benefit from getting promoted with a championship budget, and also hungry squad.

Anyone else been following Alan Nixon being mugged off by a SWFC pie account on Twitter and him threatening legal action? 🤣

He's so thin skinned for someone who does nothing but make up transfer rumours for a living, you think he'd be one of the most easy going men on the planet

Derby are now above us in the league.

Can’t we just liquidate the club now?

I have to agree. I think that fact is the very lowest of the low to hit. It's like being below Coalville and Harborough Town.

Sickening beyond comprehension.

Said to my Derby supporting mate at the start of the season that they’d finish above us and he thought I was insane. Eustace is a very decent manager.
