Hull game being called off is poor. Ref deemed the pitch safe, apparently Hull pushed that the surrounding area around the pitch was unsafe

Very poor show to leave it so late to call the game off .

As you say wasn’t even the pitch that was a problem

Hopefully fans will be fully refunded

Mason has been sacked.

That's what losing to this Leicester side does to you lol

Second manager we've got sacked this season after Manning.

So if the shot that hit the post had gone in and had Abdul blasted that volley into Row Z, we would looking at a different management change. Funny old game.

Looks like we got Ryan Mason the sack, they did look poor under him. So i wonder whose next for West Brom? Russell Martin seems a suitable fit with his brand of football, ironically he apparently turned down a job abroad not sure if he knew this was coming up.

It truly is a shit league, the fact that you don't even need a 2ppg average to finish top 2 this season smacks of being a shit league. Probably would take 85 points to get promoted automatically.

Its why people keep getting hopes up about the top 6. It wouldn't take a crazy run. Not that we seem capable of any run, or even running.

If we had a competant manager I would easily back us even with a points deduction to get into the playoff positions.

But if it is lower it might mean it is more competitive.

Well it looks like the relegation places are done and dusted in the PL, barring a freak come back from West Ham but realistically, that was their chance last night.

Assuming we stay up (relegation to L1 is still a possibility until we know about the points deduction, I do think without it we have enough), it will be a hell of a tough league next season so we can already realistically rule ourselves out an automatic promotion push next season. It will be a case of whether we can get our act together enough to have a run at getting in the play offs.

West Ham

Wolves

Burnley

Southampton

Ipswich - likely to go up though

Birmingham - if they keep investing and finally bin Davies

Wrexham - finding their feet and getting stronger

Sheffield United - likely won’t be as bad

Depressing when you see a list of teams we likely won’t be able to compete with including Wrexham, Ipswich and Burnley.

Given our financial situation, we might struggle to compete with the teams coming up let alone those coming down.

By my maths and using averages of the last 12 seasons, even with a six point deduction, we'd need five wins to stay up from here.

14 wins from 20 on the same equation to make the playoffs (12 wins without points deduction).

Yeah I agree. More making the point that any ambitions of being at the top end can be quashed now. How far down the league we are is another matter.

That said, I can’t imagine the sides coming up from L1 being as strong in terms of ambition and investment as Birmingham and Wrexham. Not a criticism of the sides likely to come up (Lincoln, Bradford etc) but Birmingham and Wrexham spend crazy amounts at that level.

Be ironic if we end up sneaking into the play offs on the last day. To be honest i wouldn't care if we got promoted or not just getting to the play offs with this team is an achievement.

Coventry signing Romain Esse & Yang Min Hyeok is a great start to the window. Hyeok was brilliant against us at the KP for Portsmouth!

How do teams manage to get difficult deals done so quickly. Amazing stuff.

both loans not sure why they would be difficult, 2 prem teams sending their talent to a club top of the league :dunno:

Just what they needed as they started to wobble.

I think they do it this year and it’s a great year to go up as it’s likely a couple of big established clubs will be dropping.

our club ask to get back up next year will be mammoth. I’m not sure if we ever recover now

Marti had said he’s putting out a strong team, so the likeliness of a few academy players that have not played is extremely slim

Exactly my point, they weren't difficult, hence the

It was a sarcastic jibe at how it takes Rudkin an eternity to get any deal done for us.
