fear of antibiotics being less effective ………….

I had a major allergic reaction in Thailand back in 2010 and the doctor who came out to my hotel with one of them fishing tackle boxes of drugs said she'd prescribed me anthrax. I'd misheard her as she was giving me a fast action jab of it and it was instead atarax.

I understand the worry.

Given that their idea of a relaxing massage is to let a bony, four foot tall elderly woman beat the living shit out of you and the food hygiene is so bad that dysentery is given a quirky local nickname, it's a wonder they get any tourism at all.

Why is tourism so down in Thailand?

A good question for Leicester's head of Thai tourism and former radio leicester commentator.

Many reasons ,

1. Flight price is crazy high

2. Strong baht, cheaper to visit Vietnam

3. The world is in recession

Theses are just some I could go on, I've been in Thailand for 8 years, i know Thai business people pretty well, they are not very good with money, especially this new generation

I'm extremely worried for us.

King Power's most valuable asset is arguably its duty-free business concession in Thailand, which is its core business and a significant source of revenue.

Now if they are giving this up, this is serious alarm bells 🔔 for me.

Interesting that all this comes out at the same time its reported Formula 1 have agreed a deal for a Bangkok street race and the primary reason is to improve Thailand's tourism.

It's almost as if there is someone calling the shots from a higher level.

Ask our good friend @Bob Hazels shorts who recently completed the self titled "King Power pilgrimage" to Bangkok. Did you meet the dear leader Bob? Did you make sure to buy loads of shite from the airport on the way home to help fund our next centre forward?

Yes, time for the King Power loyalists to get behind their beloved company and owner and fund the recovery of the business. They will go into the trenches for them, so it is claimed.

Same Bob that hasn’t posted on here since the protests/relegation?

His ramblings have moved to Twitter mainly. Tough period for him at the moment not having UFS or Gary Lineker to cry about.

I bought a few green and red curry pastes from KP duty free in Bangkok airport last September to do my bit to support the club. We were 1 point from 3 games and I already was very worried about Cooper and our squad so I was quite conflicted about whether I should have been giving them my Baht.

When was the last time someone actually bought something in the duty free? High mark up seemed to usually make any tax saving nominal

I’ve never understood how KP have made so much money selling cheap fags, my mate Gary has been doing it since he left school and he’s only got a 57 plate Focus and a room in an HMO.

Did he buy Skipp as well?

They could sell their nice fancy hotels easily and they’d be financially stable again.

I've stayed there a number of times, great hotel, amazing breakfast, also has a private Leicester City bar on the top floor on match days.

They are also flirting with the idea of legalizing gambling, making Thailand the casino capital of Asia.

Tourism didn’t get back to pre-covid levels but was rising and was almost back - this year it has crashed, bars / restaurants / beaches all near to empty. The Chinese trade has almost disappeared overnight.

KP certainly isn’t a well run business, they just rely on their monopoly and massive footfall to sell overpriced tat … but the footfall isn’t there and will be hitting hard

I almost feel like King Power is basically a Thilabd based Temu when you look at the state of the website and tat they sell.
