I do think people are making light of the impact of points deductions. They can really change momentum and also gives you significantly less room for error. I think we are in for a very rough season and beyond.

It's possible it could work the other way and create a siege mentality and galvanise the squad.

Derby lost 9 in 21/22 for PSR reasons. Their 21 points included 12 for administration. Luton lost 20 but that was way before and unrelated to PSR.

Our extra charges really won't help. We have put ourselves in such a bad position needlessly.

The extra charges I don't believe have ever incurred points deductions for others (submitting accounts late etc)

But the EFL have obviously handed down stuff much more harshly than the PL in the past but as you've explained above for Derby is was PSR + admin.

I don't know why everyone thinks Rohl will take the job. Out of the frying pan into the fire. We are a basket case of a club. Can't believe any manager in their right mind would want to come. Can see both Dyche and Rohl declining it. We will be scraping the barrel again.

This squad has zero backbone, or any resemblance to such a thing. Last season proved that.

With players such as Faes involved & the loss of Vardy, l expect little improvement in the 'roll over & tickle our tummy' department.

It's just the fact that The Championship is light years away from The Prem in standard, that we may get into the play-offs & that depends on a probable points deduction.

Exactly. This would be our team 1st game of the season even if we lost Mads, Ricardo,  Faes, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiensen, Soumare, Ndidi and BEK and didn’t sign anyone. Still leaves Souttar, Coulibaly, Choudhury, BDCR, Mcateer as well as all of our youth prospects. We’re in a better position than a lot of people think.

Honestly, the only thing that would actually derail our chances would be fatawu leaving

Baffles me how people cannot see this incredibly simple viewpoint.

Not saying we're excellently run because we're clearly not. But it's no where near as bad as people make out on this forum.

Enzo proved if you are a well structured coach the squad and infrastructure is there to be successful, for all the failings we see in Top and Rudkin, they will on most occasions support the manager in the transfer market to a degree. We have made some bad calls on players we have signed but largely due to bringing in players managers have requested and paying over the odds. There is only Ruud that could lay claim to the fact he never really got supported in the transfer market. Every other permanent manager has been well backed.

I reasonable first 11 but heaven forbid we play that formation.

We could sell Hermansen and Bilal and have more money to spend than any other team. **** me we do like to catastrophise everything.  Comparing us to Sheffield Wednesday is just plain ridiculous….. they’re not even paying their players.

Love the word catastrophise, I'm quite excited to see what the new season brings, pretty sure I will enjoy it a whole lot more than last season:scarf:

Me too. The Championship is my guilty pleasure. More games and no VAR. Plus we WIN games

They won’t give us 12 for one charge, we’re potentially going to be charged on three separate charges, so accumulatively it’s been touted as 12

Will not happen.

The EFL have given some monsters in the past and i'm not sure how they've been allowed and what the independent commission element of their juridistiction is. Seems like Derby/Luton et al just took it and didn't challenge?

Whilst the EFL maybe allowed to hand a deduction down to us, presumably it's still in this instance set by the independent commissioners who act in unison with the PL? Might be a bigger problem if we fail 24/25.

I just don't see it.

I'd be surprised if we fail 24/25

People wildly over exaggerate how bad our situation is quite frankly. We aren't a basket case, we aren't in a dangerous financial position, we don't have some crazy, eccentric owner who is volatile and unpredictable.

We've just made some poor decisions that have damaged the value of our squad.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we're well run but there's a chasm of difference between the best run clubs and the worst.

He's also just a coach. He's not shackled to it. He's leaving a dreadful situation at Wednesday and will be joining a club that's one of the favourites to go up, with a bigger budget than he's been used to, decent facilities and better players than he had at Wednesday. It's another step up on the managerial career ladder.

Think some of you are being a bit dramatic in your doom and gloom.

Agreed. I said it a few pages ago; managers are like any other employee. If you offer someone more money to do the same job, in similar or even slightly better circumstances, they're going to take it. I genuinely believe if Rohl is offered the job, he's taking it (unless a PL or Bundesliga club comes in for him).

Also, the things that bother us fans about the owners (failing to intervene, leaving things too long, being overly loyal, too slow to act etc etc) might perversely be plus points for a potential manager, if you were being cynical.

No I agree, the point was that it is possible based upon the rules and that’s why it’s being quoted by Tanner, The Athletic etc

I think some enjoy putting the boot into the club more than us winning!

They are just poor judges of football.

It's pretty obvious to anyone that watches

the Champonship that this squad with 2 or 3 gone.,would be competitive around the top 3 or 4.

Equally this squad would be around the bottom 3 or 4 in the premier League.Nothings changed that much.King power have had a minor financial blip, which they are I  the process of managing. If anything we have to find a positive way out of the Yo.Yo.

This has got to be down to strategic recruitment .

Love your optimism about losing most of that lot. If only it was as simple as having a hole in your pocket and they sadly slipped out.
