I thought the main selling point for Rohl was that he had done an amazing job with cr*p players :D

Everyone loves a freebie though!

Jesus! Barry Bannan? Here I am trying to talk myself around to the idea of Josh Windass!

Windass would be grim to be fair, don't try and talk yourself into liking that lol

He's only 31, that's a minimum of 3 years, probably 4 in Leicester wold.

Glover would probably do a better job than Rudkin.

Will have far better contacts and relationships with agents etc which should help shift a few of the deadwood on.

Centre half Bernard is meant to be decent and fairly young, youth keeper Charles is highly rated, Valery is scum but wouldn’t be shocked if Ricky P moves on

Charles is a great shout. I know it's not what everyone likes to hear first when it comes to keepers, but he is immense with his feet.

I hope so, but he's been our head of recruitment for over 2 years. It's fair to say some of our poor recruitment might be down to him!

I don’t think our owners family get along that well with chansiri. They would know each other extremely well from the circle of Thai billionaires and the fact they aren’t a  club we’ve worked with over the years for loans, friendlies or just about anything points towards there not being any relationship.

possibly even see each other as rivals as wanting to be the Thai presence in football. We certainly aren’t doing them any favours right now

Fair to say, and aptly the good recruitment (Fatawu, Mads, BEK, Mav,) though honestly how much he can do is totally dependent on too many factors from manager, budget, PSR punishment vagueness (no news on last summer window or now is bad for business.)

Very much appreciate that our targets last year and perhaps now are so far down the list. Plucking our gems that end up being 26th on the list isn't easy, which is probably why last years 'pl experience' recruitment campaign was most likely instructed from the manager with Rudkin just complying as he does to avoid being the blame when it inevitably goes tits up.

Rohl could come in and have everyone support him, but the tough thing for a manager here…is, if  in training BDR and ayew are miles ahead of everyone and Rohl picked them opening day.

he’d be crucified! Even if they’re the best options on the day. I think as fans we often just want the manager to pick who we think is best and that might not reflect the reality at the club

If he starts them and they win / perform i dont think anyone is going to mind too much, as long as there is rotation and Monga etc get a good look in.

Leicester City chief is a ‘huge admirer’ of Danny Rohl after Southampton spell, he could be ‘ideal’ fit

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl is currently the leading candidate for the Leicester City role, and he could have a helping hand with a move to the King Power Stadium.

Since suffering relegation to the Championship last season, Leicester City are in a period of change this summer, both in the dugout and dressing room.

Leicester parted ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy last week, with the decision expected after the Dutchman oversaw the Foxes’ top flight demotion.

Currently, Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is at the top of Leicester’s shortlist, with Leicester entering talks with Sheffield Wednesday to appoint the German.

With Rohl potentially making the switch this summer, a senior Foxes figure is believed to be playing a pivotal role in their pursuit, after witnessing Rohl’s coaching calibre at Southampton.

In June, EFL Analysis revealed that Rohl is the frontrunner at Leicester, which would prove to be a popular play within the Foxes fanbase, as many Leicester fans want Rohl to succeed van Nistelrooy.

Leicester’s pursuit of Rohl was boosted after it emerged last week that his Owls release clause has been slashed to £1m from £5m.

Amid the ongoing financial crisis at Sheffield Wednesday, the German did not return for the Owls’ pre-season, and Rohl told his Owls players he’ll leave this summer.

With all the dominoes falling into play for Leicester’s acquisition of Rohl, another factor as to why the former Southampton coach is the frontrunner has emerged, with the Foxes’ head of recruitment Martyn Glover, believed to be a ‘huge admirer’ of Rohl.

In a Leicester Q&A, Daily Mail reporter Tom Collomosse said: “First thing to remember about Rohl: he is hugely admired by head of recruitment Martyn Glover, who saw him at close quarters at Southampton, when Rohl was part of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s coaching staff.

“Rohl was sounded out when Steve Cooper was sacked last autumn, too – not necessarily as a candidate for that time, but as someone Leicester might turn to in future.

“While all coaches would like some input in transfers, Rohl is a training-ground coach who was educated in Germany, where sporting directors handle transfers and coaches coach.

“If Rohl can settle his contract at Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester can avoid compensation, the German could be an ideal fit.”

Rohl has also been touted for a move to the Premier League, after Brentford appointed Keith Andrews, but the more likely alternative is to see the German become the new Foxes head coach.

Collomosse concluded: “He is also admired by Brentford, potentially to become part of Keith Andrews’ coaching staff, but it would be a surprise if Rohl chose to work for a boss with less experience than he has.”

Rohl will have to prove Glover’s acclaim is true, with the latest Leicester rumours pointing towards a potential summer exodus from the King Power Stadium.

The Danny Rohl - not just a cheese sandwich but an LCFC cheese sandwich.

You've got problems if you think Coady has a sultry voice!
