A real shame for Stolarczyk if Mads does end up staying

Wouldn’t blame him if he wanted to go, even just on loan

Would be better for his development as well

still loads of time left in the window, it wouldnt shock me at all if someone like Utd came in for him, since they are looking at keepers

Just another thought has crossed ny mind given if looks like Wilf and Justin are potentially moving on we will book in the region of £15m PsR profit plus shift two high earners off the books, could it be the club have decided to try and shift these types of players and keep our better players in the hope we bounce straight back up and they add to their potential sale value as a premier league club.

Not sure where your getting that from, but capology has it at 59m last time in the champ and currently 52m for the first team playing squad.

Which is still astronomical compared to the rest of the Championship (apart from Southampton)

The figures I used are from the day we got relegated...before any player sales either times.

Our wage bill will be a fair bit lower this time once a few players leave.

The figures from the accounts are not out, last seasons accounts are not released until the end of this financial year.

Capology provides estimates unless verified, but with the majority of the playing staff staying similar it gives a good indicator of the change between the previous campaign in the championship and the wages now.’

I'd love to believe that this is the case, but I suspect it's all down to what offers actually come in for players. I doubt very much that we're flooded with solid bids.

Would make sense, still a gamble though as if Mads has a bad season we likely wouldn’t get the fee that West Ham are currently after but if that’s a poor one then might worth the risk.

We need to play this very carefully. If he ends up staying and we don't get promoted then a bid of even £15m is unlikely ever again as thats still a big amount for a keeper. The question is, does him staying and missing out of a potential £12.5m - £15m PSR headroom help or hinder us?

If there's genuine interest elsewhere still in the offing we are right to be asking for £20m + currently but given the able deputy we have who only has a couple of years left on his deal, we need to be clever.

If we can make/save money elsewhere then this is great. We keep by far and away the best keeper in the league. Tough luck for Stolarzyk but he isn't the same level. That's football!

He's still very young for a keeper. Mads will be off sooner or later and then it's Stolarczyk's time.

I don't think anyone can complain if we have Mads in the Championship.

If it is the case, would like to see one of Stol or Bausor out on loan, so we can prepare for the future. Begovic as a #2 is fine if Stol goes, if Bausor goes we can then see what we've actually got there. Get him to 30-35 games senior games ASAP.

Interesting one, it could be a gamble, but a good season in the Championship and I see him still command a fee of 10-15m, also a chance of being Denmark number 1 for the WC in 12 months time could be a shop window.

Switch in mentally by the club, I think the have switched on to clearing out the old bunch of PL players like Ndidi, JJ, Coady et al, which help massively on the wages front and is generating income.

This is allowing them to hold out for top dollar for the likes of Mads and Bilal.

Still see both going before the close of the window.

See I wonder here… Mads is a very good goalkeeper, but I don’t ever see him commanding a top price for a Keeper.

Stolz on the other hand - he’s got exceptional growth potential and I can’t help feel keeping Mads will significantly dent his growth and the potential return on investment we could see with him in a couple of years time.

If reports of Norwich’s £8 million bid for Jakub this summer were true… that’s a significant bid from a championship club for a keeper that has yet to establish a first choice season for himself.

Judging from the promotional stuff we’ve done this summer with Jakub, I think internally there was an expectation that he was going to be our number 1 this season and that we were more than happy with that outcome.

So perhaps keeping Mads - if that’s what happens - and not having the funds from his sale to invest in other areas of the squad that we’re not so well positioned in is not the instant win that some perceive?

Former and I would have said Conrad Logan.

”everyone’s eating well tonight! Conrad’s doing the challenge!”

Do you have a source for that?

I still think Mads will get sold before the window closes.
