We're a shambolic club with no leadership or money. To add to that, we're going to have a massive turnover of players in the summer. Dyche has shown, he can not only work under those conditions, but thrive. For me he has to be a serious consideration.

Why didn't we get him instead of RVN after sacking Cooper. We waste so much money on sacking managers, buying players we neve use, like Cannon, Woyo, Skipp, Souttar..... This club is a shambles with no direction, or consistency in appointments.

Think he was still at Everton when we sacked Cooper.

I assume from the article he offered himself to Rudders when it started going’s tits up but we couldn’t afford to do anything about it

And this absolutely sums up our board,

everything they do is about the here and now, there is no proactive long term planning it’s all now about short term sticking plasters, this would be another ill thought out decision and yet again show a complete lack of joined up strategic thinking.

if this happens our most recent managerial hires would have gone from Maresca to Cooper to RVN to Dyche, absolutely zero continuity in the 3 following Enzo, all just scattergun appointments with zero thought about playing style. current squad and most importantly how to maximise the academy talent at our disposal.

Everything about this club now is pretty desperate and these short term decisions will continue to bite us and I have no doubt we will end up with a lengthy stay in the EFL if we do not make a progressive appointment and bring in a innovative young upcoming manager and give them the chance to work in an environment where the structure and culture of the club is overhauled.

The situation needs sorting out sooner rather than later so the club can get on with proper planning for next season.

We aren't in a position to get a manager that ticks all the boxes for all the fans.  For me, Dyche is a safe pair of hands and I wouldn't be opposed to him being here.  No prospective manager guarantees success.

I do think Dyche would bring a different atmosphere to training and I don't think that will be what a lot of the players have been used to.  Which is a good thing.

Not sure why people are turning their noses up at this. He worked wonders at Everton with the points deduction.

He would come in, get us promoted, and then avoid relegation even if the football is rancid. He would set us up ready for somebody else in a few years time.

Would be completely the wrong appointment with zero long term thought process. So obviously with these clowns there’s every possibility of it happening.
There are so many better options out there. My only hope is that someone else takes him or Martin.

Seems to be the same opinions as to why we shouldn't have appointed Moyes. Dyche isnt my cup of tea but I'd absolutely give him the job given our current situation. It's actually quite fortunate that's he's available.

Dyche would be an excellent appointment and be exactly what we need.

Not sure why people are turning their nose up at this?

I thought we were all sick of possession for possessions sake.

Would be nice to have a bunch of players that actually worked hard, fought for the shift and fans. Dyche would demand this.
Be and end to the numerous bottle job, uninterested, spineless performances we have seen time and time again these last few years. Another one will be incoming today.

It seems some would rather go with a fancy foreign name and stay in the championship.

Not keen, but if he were to come in and do a Puel-style hatchet job, and purge the squad of freeloading has-beens, then maybe on a short-term basis it wouldn't be the worst thing.

As I've said before, I actually know a member of his family, and he's really keen on the Leicester job. However, he's also interested in Rangers (who are also considering him) and is trying to use that to give us the hurry-up.

I'm not in the business of pretending I'm ITK, but I do know this person pretty well and unless they're just winding me up (possible) then I believe Dyche could well happen.

Don’t get the snooty nature to Dyche, anybody we get is going to be a compromise of some sort and at least letting Dyche stabilise us for a few years might give us a chance to trim the fat. Dyche + new DoF would be fine.

Did he?

Players look better under Moyes. Fans are happy he’s gone.

SD is a spent force that will create further division in an already fractured club.

Short term yes.

Long term no.

He has a ceiling and it's not high enough for our expectations as fans and hopefully the club.

That said how many teams have a manager that has done more than 3 seasons?

My concern

same players look like a top 8 club since he left !

I was very much pro him until I’ve seen what moyes has done

however, we must remember that a lot of coaches have a sell by date with the same group of players. It just goes stale.

One would hope if it is Dyche he would have the strength of character to make demands of the board that are kept. The club must be getting a reputation in footballing circles of being both a soft touch and unreliable with their promises

No chance he gives the youngsters a chance if he comes. Those calling for the dinosaurs in Ayew, Dcr, Vesty and Coady to go will be the first names on the team sheet. The complete opposite of what we’re looking for so wouldn’t surprise me if we got him.
I would rather have him over Martin but there are so many better long term options available.

I think he’s always wanted the job here since he started he management career.

i do think there would be better appointments but there would be a lot worse.

Did he do more at Everton to allow for moyes to do well? Maybe, but their upturn makes me nervous about the appointment.

It also makes little sense in terms of the appointments we make, no plan etc…

New contracts for Ayew and BDCR then, Ayew is a Dyche wet dream winning all those free kicks

No more Monga, Evans etc 🙄

Ashley Barnes first signing on a free

Kasey McAteer the new Dwight McNeil

Doesn't matter who the manager is if the board are the same. I wouldn't mind Dyche but do I trust the Glover, Ruskin and Co to also get it right with transfers.... Not a chance.

Might finally sign Michael Keane though...

I work with an Everton season ticket holder. The way he describes Dyche’s preferred style of football, and his obsession with playing ageing workhorses while sidelining promising young players, is the stuff of nightmares. Be very afraid.

If his name was Juan Diaz he genuinely would be considered differently

Is that the case here? Puel and Maresca weren't universally popular.
