One year in the Premier League where you get 10 goals, 5 assists and you're gonna get a contract off someone for £150k a week.

One year in the Championship where you get 20 goals and 10 assists and you're gonna get a contract off someone for £60k a week.

The Premier League is simply where the money is and where the eyes are looking. Bilal, like any ambitious footballer, will fancy his chances of being a regular for an elite level club. He's not going to catch their attention in the Championship.

Exactly. Ideally he'd prefer a club not fighting relegation but either way, he comes out ahead having played a season in the PL instead of the Championship. As long as he looks decent doing it.

I’d love for him to stay but can understand letting him go if we make a decent profit off him.

I would however be disappointed if we only made a small profit following sale to a newly promoted side. If that’s all that’s available to him we need to convince him to commit - even offering a new contract with pay increase now we’ve lowered our wage bill considerably.

We’ve lowered our wage bill because we need to lower it, and it needs to be further lowered. I’d be very shocked if we decided to not sell him for a little bit more than what we got him for.

I'm still getting major flashbacks to every transfer window with Tielemans' agent throwing his name at every club, "leaking" connections to every journalist that would listen, and all the while, Youri clearly wasn't fussed about a move and liked living in the Midlands.

This is just what some agents are like. They try to make fetch happen. It doesn't mean that fetch is going to happen.

every time  a player moves or gets a new contract, the agent gets rewarded handsomely..

Youth is 18/19 to 21

Kids are 15 to 18

The likes of Monga have proved to be more than worthy of a place on the pitch when he comes on as sub. I still believe 15, 16 and 17 year olds should be protected from too much responsibility in the first team. Ideally if they have the talent then 10-20 minute cameos are ideal when they're on the pitch a short time and they can give everything they have in short bursts until the time their performances can no longer be ignored.

Monga is making a case for a start on ability alone but I would like to see him managed and come on in bursts. As for our other youngsters I've not seen enough from them yet that they can oust the senior professionals here. However I would like to see them on the bench and given opportunities.

"If they are good enough, they are old enough"

Doubt any coach at the highest level uses such blunt differentiation.

Surprised Brighton haven't shown an interest. He seems like the ideal player for them.

Isn't their type of signing.

Why spend £25/£30m on an unproven, exciting talent when they can £5/£10m on just as an exciting prospect from South America, Scandinavia or Japan

Leipzig who previously held an interest in Bilal are now looking at Harvey Elliott to replace Xavi Simmons. Leeds looking his best bet, or Palace if they offload Eze…

I think they already have too many attacking midfielders/behind the striker types to have an interest but they do have some form for spending that sort of money on young, relatively unproven UK-based players too, e.g. Pedro, O'Riley, Rutter, Minteh so it wouldn't be entirely out of character

That structure is changing, like ours did.  £40mill on Rutter from the championship.  £25mill on O'riley from celtic.  £30mill on Kostoulas from Olympiacos.  £30mill on Minteh.  £25mill+ on Wieffer, Gruda and Kadioglu.

It very much is their type of signing.

They'd only offer £6m so they can sell to Chelsea in a year for £106m

Brentford possibly need to completely reshape their team.

Why don’t we just loan Bilal out for a season make the team pay his wages and get him back if / when we promoted next season ??🦊🦊

We'd need a team to pay a loan fee of at least £5m for that to leave us no worse off.
