They didn’t notice though, and have started losing their shit of this bloke now instead 😂😂😂 The fact you used this and nobody battered an eye lid is a testament to how numbed people are to nonsense terms that are creeping in to football "Like to play with a triple parallelogram in the middle of the park" 1
VLC86 Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 I’d put good money on one of the reasons we didn’t get Röhl being the fact we are both Thai owned.

Yeah, I wonder if they’re business rivals and don’t get on. I think we all assume because they’re both Thai that it would be straight forward, perhaps because they’re both Thai it’s the absolute opposite. Who knows?

I was more thinking along the lines of external pressure not to make Chansiri look any worse/weaker. 2

Goals scored last season were barely above 1 per game. But they don’t have the quality out wide that we have. We have dangerous wingers who have goals in them. If we can bring the defenders out to occupy a false 9 with our wingers attacking the space it could be dangerous.

You’re probably right but in truth no one knows but I imagine dealing with either Chansiri or Ayiwatt and our DoF would make any deal more complicated! 1

Levi Port Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Biggest positive i see is that we have a squad that largely suits the style he would like to play. He will also play the style of football this squad wants to play, as post Enzo it’s evident most are wedded to that style of football and believe they’re good enough.

cityfanlee23 Posted 9 July 2025 Posted 9 July 2025 Simon Jordan says Cifuentes is a disloyal rodent. GET HIM IN. As usually SJ only sees one side of the story and ignores the other, Cifuentes had a complete breakdown in relationship with the CEO because of the direction of the club, just as Pearson did post promotion for example. If you’re in a role and you feel like your immediate boss is making decisions that actively harm your chances of success in your role and the effectively tell you to suck it up, of course you’re going to want to go somewhere else. The fact he’s willing to pay out of his own pocket some of the compensation money to join us, when he could easily just sit at home picking up a paycheck until a new job comes along is a good thing imo.

I think he bridges an important gap, he’s definitely closer to Enzo than for example Rohl or Klopp in approach, but he’s far less wedded to his setup, he plays to dominate the ball but he comes across to me as less patient to get shots on goal and is happy to let wingers run free and create chances rather than looking for the perfect moment. I think he could possibly be the compromise that gives us entertaining, fast paced football but blended with a style that focuses on ball retention. 1
