He's going to have 3 weeks before the start of the season when it could have been 3 months.  Disgraceful.

Let’s not forget also, most of this squad will be familiar with his style of play and methods thanks to Enzo. So if it’s to be believed what the QPR fans say, they should buy into him fairly quickly. I’m not concerned about us tactically, because that I think will land pretty quickly, it’s the fitness and sharpness that will worry me.

They had the whole of pre season with just Andy King and the Sports Science team. Fitness won't be an issue.

Somehow I’m not happy with this choice.  I’m not sure he’s a team builder.  He’s more of a caretaker manager.  Anyway, I certainly hope he impresses and I’m wrong.:fc:

Literally all he’s done is build teams….. and in doing so using their respective academies.

That represents the standard Thai / South East Asian approach to business - the owner takes the decisions, which are then communicated by the hired help.

That approach is clear for all to see on almost a daily basis from LCFC where the staff - at all levels - know absolutely nothing until word is communicated to them from on high.

Embarrassing isn't it

It’s 1970 style management, and is the reason we are failing so hard. I’m beginning to really loathe Top

We’re saving up for the plane tickets

Not sure you can blame Rudkin for the Visa department being closed  at weekends …

Yes but when it comes to us it always seems to be someone else’s fault.
Quite a common LCFC thing is to blame someone else

it’s Rodgers

it’s Cooper

its Ruud

it’s the players (yes but you recruited them)

Now it’s the Visa department

They must think we’re all daft, we’ve heard the same drivel for years so we all know it lies at Dumb & Dumbers feet.

... but only 2 days later than Claudio. Might work out OK as it will give the players some incentive to show the new boss how good and fit they are. Kind of new manager bounce.

I'm sure that Cifuentes has been making plans in preparation for the take over.

It's going to be alright :fc:

Circumstances wildly different to Claudio though.. Pearson left a disciplined squad on an upward trajectory and Fuchs and Okazaki had already arrived by the time of Claudio's appointment.. Pearson also left abruptly post-scandal, whereas the board knew RvN was out months ago.

This squad of helmets is all over the shop and needs major fat trimming, it's important the manager spends as much time as possible with these players to figure out what's what, cast a proper eye over the youth, identify who could be important to his system.. We've basically missed a third of pre season now..

It's easy to call it bed-wetting but it really isn't good how this has all unfolded and shines a light on just how incompetent the board are..

If Claudio had the whole of pre-season, we wouldn’t have won the league.

Different situations and foundations built for them both I’d say.

Maresca coming in quickly and getting the players on board was a big positive for us, where as now he’s going to walk into players probably thinking we are a shambles.

But you can’t blame him for waiting months to apply

Because he was coming off the back of arguably our best organised unit of the past decade and a manager who had been in for years and had the squad playing for him already and in the best shape possible… Marti is off the back of Ruud and Cooper
