There are serious gaps of quality in the squad and new players (only signed on deadline day to bed in). Ridiculous to get over excited either way this early in the season.

We’ve got the makings of an ok side at this level. If we stop playing Ayew as a no. 9 and fix the problem on the left side (Mav out of form) we’re not too far off.

With the reaction on here you would’ve thought we’d lost the game, jesus christ.

better finishing and we could’ve won 2/3-0.

Yeah I don't think today was that bad

A bit uninspiring but when you have Ayew, Daka and the judgement is out on Carranza so far as your options up front there is only so much you can do

Ayew can't score goals, Daka can't play football

We were comfortably the better side for one of the only times this season, if Coventry are one of our main rivals to go up then we should be fine

It's okay to go direct, Marti

I'm not sure we can go direct or press from the front, largely because he seems to have decided our first-choice striker should be someone who spends most of the game dropping deep into our own half and can't really run

Coventry had the best GD in the league and we pretty much dominated them for 90 minutes, so of course Cifuentes out.

Would it have been nice to win? Sure. But he has the players he has. We at least generated most of the possession and shots on target, and if Mavididi (who most of the bed-wetters have been screaming for) had put his sitter away that's the match.

We did enough to win that, looked pretty comfortable when they attacked & we played some decent combinations at times, my “ooh marti ooh marti ffs” comment was solely aimed at his substitute of James for Carranza & not Ayew.

James was having a decent debut and provided additional support in midfield, once he went off they got more joy there as Ayew doesn’t drop but will for along the line, but it looks like Ayew is his man 🤷‍♂️

Not convinced. He talks a good game but he's not got a single first half right and his subs today were also either wrong or too late, was obvious from 55 minutes that the donkey and Mavididi had to come off for an actual striker and Monga, takes too long to bring on Monga and then brings James off instead.

Very much a work in progress.

We’ve had some very worrying bad patches in all our games so far this season, I thought the first 30 minutes today was crap.

Second half though, we looked far the better team, we got in enough good areas, but just wasn’t clinical enough with the final pass or shot.

The fear I have is more about personnel over manager, a lot will depend on Carranza, but at this moment in time, we just look like a team without a natural goalscorer.

We have shit players who can't be bothered

I didn’t see any players who didn’t care today. You can’t just throw this comment in every time we don’t win.

I seriously worry about how reactionary a large group of our fans seem to be.

Yeah, because watching 3 (!) times Ayew running back to midfield (!) while we were attacking makes so much sense that we're not allowed to react, criticise or comment on it.

Quarter pre season. Disgruntled squad. Unsure of the squad until a few weeks ago. New signing gets sent off on debut. Other new signing starts his first game today. Winks, his best midfielder eased back into the 11 after wanting out. Faes wanting out. Riccy made of sticks and injured. Mavididi out of sorts.

And yet we haven’t even hit 2nd gear yet and up there. This is a huge job and so far he’s done well in circumstances- Cov are a good and far more settled side then us. This wasn’t bad, every player is playing for him

It’s pathetic, bunch of babies spitting their dummies out.

I guess the ‘baby squad’ is still very active.
