major red flags were there after his  fanboying of Luke Thomas and Bob Ried. I actually thought it was some kind of build them up strategy, but nope, he likes them. .

I’m not impressed at all. I’m on the verge of calling for his head. And he’s full of cliched shit. The only thing stopping me is that there are much deeper problems that need sorting. If Top thinks throwing us Big Sue will satisfy us he can think again.

Not great. Yes we're 4th but we're as close on points to Portsmouth in 14th as we are to the autos and that's before any deductions. For all his soundbites about "fearless" attacking football, we make about one genuinely good chance a month and there are no perceptible patterns or ideas going forward other than try and keep the ball until we can get it to Fatawu and then hope he skins everyone and/or scores from 30 yards. Like others I would cut him more slack if he was braver with the young players and visibly trying to build something for the future but instead he's building on sand by not only throwing his lot in with proven failures but continuing to favour them while they let him down time after time.

 

I don't think he's in any danger whatsoever of getting the sack though.

The only defence I can think of taking James off is the amount of travelling and games he’s played in the last couple of weeks.

James was shattered quite clearly, a passenger before being subbed, so I can defend that.

His hand was forced on Ricardo too who had just had his final warning from the dog shit ref.

 

I think Hamza coming on shot the already fragile defence to pieces.

 

Honestly I don't think he wants to have to make either of those subs.

 

Faeces should have been hooked as soon as he made yet another mistake leading to a goal though.

Yep, if anything Soumare shored it up. James had clearly burnt out as he was making an increasing amount of mistakes.

I like Marti and in my head i still believe alot of our problems are more down to the quality (or lack of) with the players than the actual tactics. 

 

But what i don't get is every game so far this season, bar maybe Swansea we have been a team of 2 halves. We either have a great 1st half and suck balls in the 2nd or vica versa. I really don't get it.

 

Today the 1st half was great and i expected (hoped) we would come out after the break and step it up a notch but it went the same way as the Wrexham game.. why? Entitlement of players thinking we had already won, lack of fitness or managers tactics? I dunno but its really frustrating

Thought the subs tonight were crap albeit he had nothing better to put on. Thought we could have got another 15mins out of Ramsey, Carranza and James at least. We all knew nothing was happening once the chuckle brothers came on.

Mentioned him numerous times in the summer too, but could understand the argument against that it might have been a tad early for him. 
 

But the overall job he’s done, along with the versatility he has shown in his management, if he manages to keep Pompey ticking along nicely, he’ll be getting many admirers sooner rather than later.
