Mavididi as the false 9 with Monga and Fatawu either side of El Khannouss might well be our best option in some games once the season settles down. Think Monga right now is going to be an impact player but when he's got his rhythm then overall that could give us the most pace, power and energy.

Marti Soumare and Skipp double pivot is give me Puel Ndidi and Mendy in the same side vibes.

He need to be brave enough to pick Wink, El Khannouss and one of the young attacking players.

I'd give Page and Alves another chance.

Think Ayew has looked a lot better than most so far. A low bar but he isnt the main problem

he was crap for all bar the final 20 when Daka was on and Sheff Weds were down to 10 last weekend, and crap last night. He's looked better than tweedledumb and Tweedledee in centre mid, that's it

He is better at holding the ball up but has no pace what so ever compared to Daka.. we could do with a new striker and CM before the window closes.

I don’t think Mavididi is clever enough in his movement to perform a false 9 role effectively; I’m skeptical whether he’d actually be any use as a striker (even if he did once play as one), let alone such a specialist role as a false 9.

I also fail to see how having no spearhead for our attack would actually help our attacking play when you consider the main strength of our side is the abundance of talented players that play directly behind the striker - we don’t need another body in there reducing space for these to play in, we need a striker for them to play in time and time again.

Ayew is going to become a proper fan favourite isn't he?

He'll score on Saturday; a 30-yarder free-kick..:ph34r::dunno:

If like his dad no wonder he could hit the bar. But could he find the back of the net.

Or was it a family trait?

Maybe so, there's probably a reason he's not been deployed through the middle here yet even though he did on occasion play there for Montpellier in Ligue 1.

I just see flaws with Ayew and Daka and i'm unconvinced we sign another striker.

Do we have 11 of those?

Amusing comment but actually true too.

Take out the kids such as Monga and Page you're left with just 3 plus Begovic, are happy ish here, Abdul, Jakub, McAteer (and some of those three I'm pushing the limit...

Then maybe 8 who are ambivalent (Choudhury, Nelson, JJ,and Ricky, Thomas, Ayew, Stephy Okoli)

Souttar, Vesty, Faes, Soumare, Winks, VK, Coulibaly, Skipp, Daka,.Okoli for a variety of reasons absolutely despise us.

And on what do you base this incredibly over-confident opinion?
