A forward that is guaranteed to start week in, week out and hopefully we don’t take the option to buy.

Dakas would score more in the MLS.

The Championship overall is much higher standard and he wont put anything like those numbers up if he joins us. In fact, I doubt we’ll see much of him.

Jhon Duran scored goals in the MLS and his game scaled up fine. His record per 90 is decent in the Netherlands too.

This is a guy on loan who doesn’t have to be that that good to be better than our current options.

Takes good shots, presses well and he’s reasonably competent in the air. A loan with an option is smart business.

I watched him in the MLS and he was decent (especially compared to some of the absolute dross I watched when I lived over there).

Thanks for also reminding me of how much I hate the Beautiful South with this thread, you monsters.

The difference being Duran was 18/19 in the MLS, he’s only 21 now.

Carranza is 25 now.

I wasn't comparing them as players, I was saying his goals scaled.

He score 8 in 15 nineties, 0.53 per 90 - and then scored 12 in 13.9 ninety in the PL.

Carranza scored 37 in 78.4 nineties, 0.47 per ninety.

Cucho Hernandez and Ricardo Pepi both have pretty decent track records after moving to Europe after MLS careers - it's a far better league than it was.

Looks a right old scrapper which goes well with the way Cifuentes is trying to mould us.

Back bone and fight has been missing for sometime. I'm all for it.

I don't hate it in the crap position we're in. Loan with option to buy is the right way to go for us - gets us potentially decent players without having to really spend and gives us the power to get them.

I'm still miffed we didn't get Ghezzal with an option to buy when he had no suitors but us and was languishing in Monaco reserves.

As you imply though it's a risk with little downside and potential upside on players who look like a gamble.

One of my favourite FT tropes is when someone changes the wiki, screenshots it, then posts it on here going "come on, which one of you did this!!!!!"

It's because a Wikipedia editor saw him having his medical at Morrisons earlier hahahahahahhaha
