Why is he on the bench if he is never going to be used, yesterday we were losing at home and only used 4 subs and yet the manager would rather chase the game with Hamza Choudhury than change shape or bring on Carranza to try and save the result. Absolutely comical, would rather see Jake Evans or Lorenz Hutchinson given a go on the bench than see Carranza getting splinters on his arse.

I think he’s on the bench as it avoids some sort of penalty loan fee to Feyenoord.

Unbelievable, how are we so bad at negotiating deals for incoming players. Surely it should be a flat loan fee and wage contribution. Plus adds on for team and individual performance.

I really hope we do, however it’s concerning it @Muzzy_no7 is correct as we have agreed to include a penalty fee every time said player we were unsure about is not included on the bench

I'd have thought it was fairly standard for most bigger sides loaning players to lower league sides. You want the player playing and improving so you can sell him at profit or re-integrate him when useful. Him having to be in a percentage of match day squads when fit seems logical. We don't have to play him and seeing as you can have so many subs these days not really a massive bind.

 

We just need to send him back in January and try a different route.

You’d think he’d not feature at all if that was the case, ala Eduoard.

It makes no sense so can only assume it’s part of the loan agreement that if fit be must be in the matchday squad. Can be the only explanation.

I’ve gone very “football manager” here but, let’s be honest they do base transfer clauses on real world. 

 

The “unused” loan fee extra payment applies when someone is left out of a squad entirely. So I’d assume he’s on the bench so we don’t have to pay that.
