9 home game losses in a row without scoring a goal.

Absolutely crazy how so many of us just got numb to losing and being embarrassed by that team and manager. I was a kid when we were in league 1 and really getting into supporting LCFC, and so I’d heard about some of our all time worst teams and managers. I can’t believe I’ve actually now properly endured one.

Let’s never do that again.

In my supporting city life, it’s Taylor but closely followed my RVN, Taylor absolutely ruined Martin o Neil’s legacy, but the latter 9 homes games  without even scoring is absolutely disgusting, either 1 could be number 1 tbf

Toss up between Taylor and Rodgers for me. Both took well built teams and not only destroyed them but loaded the club with worse players and significant financial burden setting the club back years.

Holloway was awful and I hate the fact that he tarnished our proud history by overseeing our relegation to League One, however I do accept that he did take over under very challenging circumstances.

In my lifetime, probably Tater Peeler. MoN's legendary side was probably coming to the natural end of its cycle, but he completely dismantled it, signed some absolute dogshit, AND massively underperformed with what he had.

Holloway was a shit manager who made some honking signings but it's difficult to say how much of that was down to Mandaric's interference - it's become very apparent when hearing from managers in that era that he thought of himself as a Chairman, DoF and Manager all in one.

Van Nistelrooy was just pathetic and absolutely needs to be in the discussion.

Rodgers is a **** for what he eventually became. His behaviour was disgusting, but it's obviously not him.

It's a toss up between RVN and Peter Taylor for me.

I think RVN just for his sheer ineptness if judging it on managerial skills.

Peter Taylor for virtually destroying our club after taking over from MON and just basically signing complete dross.

Special mention for Sousa for literally turning players into a shell of themselves within a few weeks

When you hear Milan was making Holloway play players like N'Gotty against his will it adds a bit of balance to what he was up against. That was another completely avoidable relegation. What a mess of a season.

I can't see him ringing up Pearson the season's after and demanding the same. Maybe he learned his lesson. Then let him go so Vichai and Top could have the "world renowned" Sousa.

Brendan put himself before the club and it set us back years. Taylor was awful vs the position of the club at the time.

However, while Ruud inherited a club in disarray on and off the pitch, the output was unbelievably bad.

1 win, 1 draw, 16 losses between 14th December and 26th April.

We went from 8th December to 3rd of May without scoring a home goal.

I think things changed between those coaches

taylor probably bought the players back then but under Rodgers it was much more sophisticated

yes he probably suggested a few but it would mostly be those identified by recruitment

as a coach, he was way ahead of many we had over the decades

yes it went sour because ultimately it was all about him and we couldn’t afford to indulge him
