Well that’s been our best first half this season and we don’t deserve to be behind, but we just look so blunt.

Having no threat down the middle means we rely so much on the wingers doing something, but they are being doubled and even tripled up on.

James is a tidy player, but not a 10. Ayew playing ok but not even our furthest forward player half the time.

Bouba having one of his rare good games, but he needs to come off so we can drop James and Ayew back a position each and get some attacking threat through the middle.

Horrible defending by Faes for the goal - why we are playing this want away clown over Nelson or even Okoli is beyond me.

We are still well on top so I have belief we can take something from the game. West Brom not up to much.

I’m still laughing at how bad the defending was for their goal 😂 tragic

These are garbage but have set up well

Best we can hope for here is a draw

Faes made it very difficult for everyone else in fairness, and Iling-Jr was very cool, composed. Calm finish under pressure.

If we were 2 nil up, and then we play this tippy happy crap, fair doos.  Because the passing is good, you could see the confidence in our midfield but up top and our wingers, are not firing.

To static and predictable.

Not enough urgency to move the ball and keep playing it round the back which has resulted in a few mistakes all ready.

need to be driving at their defence.

Suffering with no genuine 9 playing again. One moment of poor defending by Faes. Go 2 up top Marti please and take off Mavididi. Give Carranza a full 45.

Mavididi is having a good game so why would you take him off?

Yep.

It’s all largely ineffective. It’s like having a bike made out of solid gold, looks nice, but you can’t ride it.

So replace them all with a carbon fibre XI?

Level of refereeing and officiating in England is a joke. For a few years in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, when the Prem money helped develop referees, we were ahead of the curve.

The refs and PGMOL then believed the hype, got some lucrative teaching/ref coaching gigs in other countries and the whole scene got arrogant. The rest of the world has long since caught up and we now consistently have, collectively, the worst officials when it comes to the professional game across the top five European leagues.

Awful.

45 minutes wasted….

Continuing to play Ayew will just further harm our attacking output.

Along with JV killing any attacking momentum.  He would rather, under no pressure, ignore the first time pass to Fatawu and pass between each other until they get pressed and send it long to lose in a congested area.

Do we have to waste another season while another manager does nothing to improve them.

The issue is we don't move the ball fast enough. I thought Enzo's style was slow at times but this is slower still. Means we can't break the lines and pull them out of shape. Even harder now we're a goal down as they're happy to sit in. No idea what Faes was thinking for that goal, just shows why he can't be in the relied upon.

It's looked better than enzoball but if you keep slow lumps like Vesty, Bouba and ayew what do you expect?

The question is why didn't one of our CBs close him down outside the halfway line. I'm not a fan of standing of and letting them run its just shocking defending
