Good result in the end. Just seen the table how are we 3 points off top,  we’ve been very average. Be nice to get a few wins now and see what we could do just a shame we’ll get hit with a big deduction.

The answer is embedded within the question.

Wout Faes owes Fatawu big time today. Said it in the match thread but his decision to dive in for that challenge was the actions of a player who quite frankly is thick as ****. There was no need to attempt the challenge and even though he did win the ball, it was a risk that didn’t need to be taken and the angle of the tackle and the view point of the referee meant a bad decision was likely.

Anyone sticking up for him for winning the ball is completely missing the point, it didn’t need to be done and for someone who gives off the arrogant air of being better than this level, he’s let himself down massively twice already at Swansea today and away at WBA.

Give Ben Nelson a chance Marti, FFS.

Agreed. Faes is such a liability at this point that I don't see any advantage in having him in the team. He's always been a loose canon, reckless and sometimes just straight up brain dead. For me he makes too many silly mistakes to be in the squad as a starting player. Ben Nelson didn't cover himself in glory the last time he was in the team and I get why Marti might be cautious to include him. Maybe if we get a good run of wins we will see him integrated back into the team. Right now this team looks very unsettled, having really good spells in games and then periods where they drop off entirely. If the team can iron out its inconsistencies I would hope Marti will reconsider because I think Ben's ceiling is much much higher than Faes.

We are improving.

Up to 3rd and as long as we continue to pick up points like this, we’ll be in the running at the end of the season.

It looked one real time, sure on the replay you see he gets the ball but it's ultimately incredibly stupid to dive in like that when the ball is rolling out of play and give the referee a decision to make. Brain dead defending regardless of whether he won the ball.

Obviously I didn't enjoy the penalty being awarded, but I felt after that decision- it seemed to turn the game around?

Almost gave us the 'fire in our belly"? 🤔

I wish that Faes - rather than remonstrating with officials after the game, he'd of just gone over with the rest of the squad to applaud the travelling fans.

Just have the focus on the result - rather than one incident.

He's not really a team player - is he? 🤔

We won’t have a striker hit 10 goals this season I’ll say that for certain.

Which if we don't I can't see how we go up, certainly not automatically.

If Ben Nelson made that challenge everyone would be saying how hard done by he was. Faes and Vestergaard are in a position where they can't change opinions, and most of the time I'd agree. But nothing wrong with the tackle and its a horrible decision.

shit challenge, shit decision

the second part could be avoided by not doing the first part

I was in the Swansea end, the faes challenge was right in front of me, never a penalty. There's no way the ref can be sure from the angle he's at so should never have given it. Swansea fans around me couldn't believe it was given.

JJ gonna be a huge difference this season. He was probably my motm, broke the lines well, great goal too.

Was really happy with daka first half, thought he did well, and having him as an out down the channels really played to our advantage. Couldn't see so well second half from where I was.

Luke Thomas had a great game for me as well. Gave it out a bit, was much better at looking to play the ball forward and was solid defensively.

Overall thought we deserved it, nice to see us lose that equaliser and turn it back in our favour. My mate who's a Swansea fan thought we were class. I wouldn't go that far but much better over the full 90 from the lads

Enjoyed the game today overall but Marti HAS to find a way of creating more chances centrally. I feel like if our wide men are out of sorts then we’re lucky to get on the scoresheet.

we need to find a way of carving out more chances like the one Carranza fluffed…and hope Daka (or JC but the jury is still out on him) isn’t on the end of them

Only seen the goals (James and Fatawu with the worldies) but sounds like we dropped off again when we scored, but showed good character to go on to win the game after the howler of the decision for their penalty.

For all our shortcomings so far this season, and with us potentially still to properly get going it feels pretty good that we sit in 3rd and only 3 points off the top. Coventry look miles ahead (attacking and goals-wise).

It might be an indicator of how bad the league is that we can be average more often than not and still be as high as we are. But to me it's a positive as opposed to being towards the bottom end of all the dross.

Given how he has not been forgiven for the Huddersfield first half, I would suggest if Nelson had done exactly the same, people would want him back in the U21’a for the season!

Good win in the end. It’s a shame it needed a Fatawu worldie to get us back on track

Why is it a shame? I think it was an excellent goal and if you look at the build up, it was a very good team goal.

Then you have JJ's goal, also a worldie, and then Vesty's instinctive reaction for his goal.

Are you one of those supporters than sees a positive but makes it into a negative?

If you’d read ahead you would see that I’ve already responded to another poster on that point.

I’d start James alongside Winks, and Daka at 9 in every game on that evidence. Not really sure what to do at 10, but one of Page, Ayew, Bobby and Ramsey needs to stake a claim for it and make it their own. Not really been impressed by any of them at 10 yet, Bobby for short spells has maybe looked the best but was poor today.

No.

if you’d read my other post match posts elsewhere and even on this thread I’d like to think I’m fairly balanced and far from negative but, equally, I can’t be arsed to do your research for you so think what you like

I did a bit of research and found this in the matchday thread to PhilMitchell:

"I do. Your opinion is as valid as anybody else’s. Especially when I agree with it"

Is that balanced?

I don't want an argument. Have a pleasant evening.
