He's got them playing for him, we would not have be in this mess if we sacked Marti in December or even appointed GR instead of Kingy for those 3 games.

This is still a a mammoth task to stay up because we acted so late.

He's given us hope, in players now showing effort and he's organised us defensively better. However, I agree it's too little too late. Not Rowett's fault, the club reacted too slowly. As I said in another thread, it'll be close but we'll still go down as we are relying on other results as well as our own, which isn't a comfortable place to be.

At least now with Rowett, I feel we have more of a fighting chamce

England not do anything for you or others?

He would know the best U21s in the country and those there or there abouts that we could get on loans or even permanent deals.

Go back to our old model what actually worked. Get the mix with with experience and youth. It might take a season possibly two but that's how we rebuild imo

Honestly.... I don't know.  Here's a list of England U21 Managers...

Peter Reid (1999)

Howard Wilkinson (1999–2001)

David Platt (2001–2004)

Peter Taylor (2004–2007)

Stuart Pearce (2007–2013)

Roy Hodgson (2013, caretaker)

Gareth Southgate (2013–2016)

Aidy Boothroyd (2016–2021)

Lee Carsley (2021–Present)

He could go on to be the next Roy Hodgson or he could be the next Peter Taylor.  We just don't know.

Ironically, the one name on that list that was linked to us, who happens to be the most successful England manager of the Modern Era, was seen by many to be an awful choice and a terrible club manager.

I don't think it's the draws per se. You can clearly see that the players are putting in the effort, some nice plays but more importantly we look more organised.

You only have to look at the match stats to see we’re actually creating good chances in these two games, rather than being dominated week after week and getting a fluky goal.

West Brom have sacked their manager, so we really do need to capitalise on this promising start and get some wins on the board. Nearly a quarter of the season left so I’m not panicking just yet, particularly given Rowett’s good start.

Will be interesting to see who West Brom go far and how long it takes to appoint them. But they have Sheff Weds at home coming up next…

When he was appointed I read a lot of comments from fans of various clubs saying how horrible it can be to face a Gary Rowett side and that was music to my ears.

I said in another post but for years we’ve been so easy to play against. I just want us to be a horrible side to play again.

Speaks well

I feel really confident and if you look at what has happened the last two games there's been a resilience that wasn't there, conceding after 2 minutes and then just before half time, this team fell apart against Southampton now there's a backbone. When we look at what's brought us the greatest success initially Pearson sacked and brought back, Ranieri struggled with Greece I think, Rogers had something to prove again in the premiership, that's when we started to lose our way though the last 5-6 years. The reason I love this club stems back to when Rowett would of played under O'Neil that Foxes never quit mantra, he keeps talking about restoring the connection with the fans, wouldn't surprise me if he's had his eye on this job for a year, he could see we were on a downward trajectory and whereas before he wouldn't be considered now he is, biggest opportunity of his career he knows that, we need to get back to what we were before we started thinking to big time Charlie, early days but we have a man in charge that has a connection with the club and a personal point to prove with everyone that has wrote him off.

Here’s my effort as an alternative from the ‘Gary Rowett’s Blue Army’ :scarf:

Friday I’m in love- The Cure

Chelsea called and Enzo’s gone

Steve and Ruud got so much wrong

Marti stayed here for too long

It’s Rowett, I’m in love

I can’t see this team even with a good manager get us to the playoffs with our striking options. Literally got the worst strikers in the league which is mad when you’ve just had them in the prem.

We are scoring goals from a lot of other places though to be honest. Our Strikers have been terrible, they style of play we have insisted on has been pretty awful too, as bar the odd worldy we haven't created many chances.

Never played for O'Neill, Rowett was a Peter Taylor signing in 2000/01.

Callum Davidson also signed that summer.

Easy to forget this is just from 1 week too. Seen more fight, spirit, and organisation than any other point in the season. Last night gave me a lot of hope.

Far too complex for our fanbase, it’ll be
🎶 Du Du Du Du, Gary Rowett 🎶

If we can continue to play how we did last night for the rest of the season but we still go down due to individual errors, i'd be happy to see Gary stay and rebuild. That said, if we play how we did last night in every game for the rest of the season I think we will be comfortable. Need to continue improving.

Or adapt Duck Sauce's 'Barbara Streisand' and just insert 'Gary Rowett' instead. Simple and fun.

Yeah it's a decent start no doubt. Seeing him compared to Pearson after 180 minutes of football just seems a bit OTT to me not that I want to piss on anyone's parade. Let's hope he's the man to make up for the clubs incompetence

The mentality has been the issue, if you can notice a change in that in the space of 1 week, you'd think as more time is available the ideas will be clearer. He's very clear on what he wants, we've lacked that clarity of communication since Enzo left, strikes me he's hard but not to hard as he recognises he needs to get some players on side and build confidence.

Rams fan I work with loves him

I think it’s only really Stoke fans that don’t like him.

Millwall fans were really positive about him

I’ll say it. I ****ing love him. Clip that up and throw it in my face when he keeps us up, gets offered a 5 year contract and then is sacked after 10 games next season. I’ll take it on the chin.
