I like the engagement, I thought what he said was true. We have been sh*t for a long time. We’ve had “fans” moaning and booing at every opportunity.

The sooner fans realise that we are where we are and accept that we are “sh*t” maybe we can start pulling in the same direction and giving encouragement to the team the sooner we can get out.

He's also contributing to the shitness though..

He’s got to start somewhere to help us out of the mess. That work has started by getting rid of the “bad apples”. Let’s see where we’re at by the end of the January window and I hope we’ll be in a better place in the table. However that will only happen if the fans stop booing at every opportunity.

fvck off with that

We're in League 1 because of 5 years of mismanagement by Aiyawatt, Rudkin and the string of dogshit managers they've appointed. Russell Martin is not the answer to our problems.

And that is the issue isn’t it. Years of mismanagement! Not really RM’s fault is it? He’s trying to sort this out but as you and I can probably agree, he’s fighting an uphill battle.

So, my question to you is… who and how does this get fixed?

I wonder how long the board will cling on before they pull the plug - there will be a tipping point, even for our buffoons.

Reckon, unless performances/results get too negatively drastic, the owner is waiting for new owners to come in and do the managerial process themselves.

Susan Whelan used to interview candidates but obviously she has now left.

It’s also not the fans fault either. Pull your head out their arse

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a new manager saying "We've/you've been shit for a long time"

In fact, it's what we need; someone to come in, and hold the players, board and overall mentality of the club to account and to change standards - you can't do that unless you have the balls to recognise past failures up to this point. You can imagine Nigel Pearson would have done similar in 2008, right?

The problem is that Martin is saying 1) without the results/changes to back it up and 2) as a self-defense mechanism.

If only the interviewer, in answer to “what do you want” simply replied that what we ‘want’ is to win games of football. Games of football against Stevenage, Barnsley, Burton and Oxford.

This level of delusion is crippling…….

Lets be clear about one thing here, Martin hasn’t got rid of the bad apples, the clubs recruitment team moved them on…..

Where is this blind hope coming from we will be improve? Martins record is hideous…… we will not improve under him, he is a shit coach…….

Completely agree.

I know people get abuse on here for suggesting we should support the team because of all the mismanagement over the past few years and we shouldn't support what the club has become, but honestly imagine being a player and just waiting to get booed at everything you do. We've got rid of the majority of the dross, RM has come in to try to do a job and we need to give some support. There comes a point where people need to understand that supporting the players at games (not the same thing as supporting the board) will genuinely have a positive impact on the team. The longer people complain and boo at every opportunity the worse it will just become on the pitch.

To be clear, supporting the team on the pitch does not mean agreeing with the KP or Rudkin. We can protest that in other ways. But one of the main reasons we did so well when we fought of relegation then won the prem was the atmosphere was so positive at every game.

My head isn’t up anyone’s arse, just trying to say that this isn’t RM’s fault when it started years ago with mismanagement.

The thread is about RM not upper management and owners correct? Now, if it was about the owners then yes I would agree they need to be held accountable and that isn’t something that we’ve seen or heard. It’s shocking what’s happened to us over the past 5 years and something that shouldn’t have happened.

Multiple things are true:

1) the club is a mess and any manager will struggle under this ownership

2) the 'next manager' is always seen as some sort of panacea, but never can be because of the above and because:

3) the club enforce a style that doesn't work for our players/level

4) RM has underperformed given the level of backing and signings

I feel like you’ve put my point and what I wanted to say much better than me. This is my feelings also.

Nobody is saying the club's where it is because of Russell Martin. That would be foolish. But he is inept at football management and serves as a harsh reminder of how far the club have fallen and are likely to fall even further

His "trying to sort this out" is the same thing that got him sacked at Southampton and hounded out at Rangers. He's wedded to a dogmatic style of play that nullifies his players' strengths and amplifies their weaknesses. It doesn't matter that we've shifted some of the bad eggs because any manager could do that.

What's needed to stop the on-pitch rot is a pragmatic manager who doesn't double down on an impotent possession-at-all-costs approach that's laughably easy for opponents to defend against, and easy for them to score on the counter against.

Martin is just another symptom of Aiyawatt and Rudkin's pathetic "play like Man City" obsession when the only thing the three of them know about playing like Man City is that Guardiola teams liked to have the ball.

Dave Challinor is a name that's been brought up countless times before by others on this forum, because he has knowledge of League One, having reached the playoffs with Stockport and getting them promoted from the National League and League Two so he has a good track record at this level. He's a much more pragmatic, versatile and adaptable manager than Martin is; exactly the type of profile this club needs.

Sackable offence for a bit of honesty? Do me a favour mate. Leicester City have been shit for ages. That is an absolute honest fact.

We've all worked places where what we do or sell is shit.... would we get fired if we said that in an interview... yes, yes we would.

It doesn't matter who knows it already, you don't say it.

All points are true. Point 4 is key here, we expected to be top and cruising this league, correct? Maybe that’s the issue, we aren’t that good at the moment and are having to rebuild and we need some fans to realise this. We have no given right to walk the league (see last year), it comes with hard work and all pulling in the same direction and trying to build that relationship with the fans. However that is hard to do with such a toxic environment, aim it at the owners but the players need encouragement.

Is it okay to think he’s absolutely bang on with what he says, that the fan is being ridiculous and that Martin is still the wrong guy?

cause that’s where I am

Because he's not had back-to-back wins yet, in all competitions, the pressure is really on him now.

He needs to win the next three Peterboro' (H), Doncaster (H), and Bromley (A). No excuses.

If they do this, a little more slack will be given to them.

So it's all about stats and not results.

I liked Pearson's response when he came here and was asked what type of football he would play. He said he'd play: "winning football".

Maybe don’t do things that warrant booing then?

Martin just not capable of getting anywhere near 90 points. The worst manager we had at Leicester

I agree and I've seen mclintock and Taylor.

But you can justify their appointments.

A top player and a city legend.and Taylor a forward thinking youth  International coach highly respected. Both terrible failures and destructive to the future at that time.

But Martin no justification for his recruitment .The worst possible appointment. What the flck are they thinking?
