Shows he’s not shifting in his principles.

As somebody once said “I’m not for turning”

I mean doesn’t he find losing a lot of games miserable & demotivating??

Glad to see he has such as positive view of his place of employment in such a short time too.

I said similar in the Stevenage match thread but will say again on here. This season is already a humiliation for him and should be seen as such by all parties.

10 games against lower league managers and 8 have had his pants down. It's a complete embarrassment.

Brainless loser football that's 5 years out of date, from someone people on here thought was too good for League One (lol) and managed in the Champions League last season.

I hate him as a manager, but hes very likeable in that interview.

Was very likeable in pre season in spain too when spoken to.

Probably how he gets his job and fit Mrs, proper sound, but completely incompetent.

Him trying to put Enzo on this pedastal as if he has one cintilla of the qualities Enzo had...it's why he's managing us and Enzo is managing Man City. He's always been a faux version of what Maresca's style is and why he got utterly pumped 10-1 on Agg couple seasons ago!

No current manager of a football club should be saying "you've been shit for ages now". I expect that from my Forest mates, not the man in charge of my football club.

Also saying "you" and not "we" is telling...

Yeah agree 10000%, thats doesn't sit well with me at all!

I'm sorry I can't believe people aren't making more of "you've been shit for ages", that's a sackable offence on its own for me.

Two tell-all moments in there.

He doesn't quote wins he quotes shots and the monumental "I'll live by the sword".

F*ck the outcome I'm sticking by my principles.

It's incredibly naive of him to talk in those terms in the age of socials and cameraphones but deep down I think we all know that's what's going through his head anyway, it's just great to hear it confirmed.

The director of non-comms will be having a chat with him this morning and if Posh, Bromley and Doncaster aren't wins, I'd say the sword he mentions won't be too far away.

Uses the 35 shots against a team that lost to non league Braintree to bolster those stats,

”we will be fine”

As long as we play 17 year olds

wins the lottery every time he gets sacked

Russell, you might want to deflect the amount of shots. But you’ve been in charge while we’ve signed three wingers, two strikers, three attacking midfielders. They are the players you chose.

Similarly the defence is an organisational mess.

While, yeah we have been shit. The difference being pal. We are now shit in League 1

You're a wrongun. Talking absolute tripe of late trying to defend this mutant.

thank you i guess,

Im by no means defending him, hes been below average since hes been in charge; and after some performances he deserves pelters

and our fanbase is a f-ing meme at this point,

wanted youth to be played...playing them, wanted a rebuild....happen/happening, i think either way hes screwed

it kinda shows fans want the instant fix, everything should have been done yesterday,

also glad social media wasnt around when MON was first in charge, christ that would have a been a lark

It’s an instant fix that clubs of our size in recent years have absolutely no issue succeeding when dropping to League 1

City fans are right to compare us to Cardiff last season and think why can’t we manage what they did with a new manager and 10+ plus new players?

It's the same kind of cocksure nature that NP had but the difference was NP could back it up with action.

Winning is the only thing that matters in football.

This is literally the objective of the sport. Of any ****ing sport.

I genuinely think that some people at the club believe it to be secondary to some style / philosophy nonsense.

"135 shots in five games of football" ... We've had 108 shots over 7 league games (ranked 6th); we've got the joint lowest xG of 0.09 per shot (22nd) and we're converting just 8,33% of shots (18th). It's not like we're massively underperforming in the finishing department either. Anyone can shoot from the corner flag and have it count as a shot, that doesn't make it effective.

He's making stuff up to cover his failings.

He even says "We'll win and when we win it'll be fine" - Firstly, we're not winning, so it's not fine. We keep losing or drawing the same predictable way. Enzo had us playing efficient football from the get-go - and like the fan said, he didn't like that style either despite the success.

The "you've been sheet since then" just shows he knows and feels he's on borrowed time. If he'd said "We've..." then at least he would've shown some ownership of the situation, but he truly believes that he's not responsible for our performances this season, which should be a massive red flag to everyone and send alarm bells ringing loudly with Rudkin et al.

This is spot on, baffles me how people can see it any different.

Direct your anger towards the people that that for some reason believed it wouldn't go this way.

He's acting how we knew he would, the teams playing how we knew they would, the fans hate it like we knew they would and it's as effective as we thought it would be.

All of this only deepens and worsens until King Power and their lieutenants are gone.

Absolutely

You are correct I feel.

I reckon if on Saturday fans went in on king power they would still face a bigger kick back than anything directed at Martin.

Feels like they are off the hook again whilst the fans look at Martin.
