Is Howe really any better than Tuchel, other than being English I dont see why you'd swap Tuchel for him tbh

Literally saw Eddie Howe on the touchline last night at Bristol City. Newcastle looked terrible (even for a preseason friendly). Granted they’re missing some WC players but their squad looks so threadbare.

I see similarities if the FA get rid of Tuchel and replace him with Howe as what happened when Chelsea got rid of Tuchel and replaced him with Potter. 
As much as Tuchel fvcked up against Argentina I’d definitely give him the next Euros.

Unless Guardiola becomes available then I'd probably stick with Tuchel too.

They're really lost their identity. A little bit like how we did under Rodgers.

 

Their initial success came because they had hungry and talented players. You could put the likes of Botman, Guimaraes , Gordon, Isak, Tonali, Hall and Livramento into pretty much any top team.

 

The problems come when you start to accept a drop in standards by selling players without an equal replacement.

 

Leicester got by for years with selling one key player each summer. Tonali, Guimaraes, Gordon and Isak leaving in a 12 month window is a killer. Especially when none of them have been adequately replaced.

I am very much of the opinion that the England manager should be English, but that's only because I think that foreign managers should not be allowed in international football. 

 

Your point is valid. If you are going to remove Tuchel, you should do it for someone who is a clear upgrade. There's little to no evidence to suggest that Howe is that.

Newcastle coming apart due to PSR… if a club as big as Newcastle is struggling to maintain spending at a high level and keep their best players what hope is there for anyone else..

The PIF and Saudi are more invested in growing the sport domestically and creating a competitive league that benefits the national team for 2034. I think they've just got a bit bored of Newcastle tbh.

They did spent around £250m on Newcastle last summer to be fair.

Yeah wouldn't disagree. They feel distant and haven't done well without the public facing Stavely and whatever her husband is called. Think they need that link between the club and the dark powers at "PIF".

Says all you need to know about the evil and absurdity of PSR.  Chelsea can spend what they like, same as Man City.  Newcastle who have the richest owners are limited by PSR and supposed ffp and have to watch what they spend.

 

It really is a tiresome farce.

Having struggled through watching plenty of Newcastle matches on the box last year. The last thing England needs is Eddie Howe and that only way is essex looking Tindall with him.

PSR and FFP is a joke , don’t bother complying with it and you can be successful.
