Talking about Todd Boehly, there’s talk from one of the Leuven fans on their thread in this forum,  that according to a very reliable source, Boehly is interested in purchasing us.

Flogging his stake in Chelski

Any savvy buyer would wait for the inflection point of KP feeling the maximum ongoing burden, having little other interest from buyers and the desperation to sell peaking.

The asking price will have to drop, if they don’t accept a realistic asking price it’s either stump or more cash (they can’t) or administration eventually.

A prospective buyer can wait it out as tentative the leverage, although you’d want to buy whilst we still look like we have a lot of young prospects, so this season rather than next.

Buying us then selling to Mike Ashley in a PSR loop hole

I think in the end Top and KP will walk away  with very little considering  what they've  spent and wrote  off over the years Surprised Rudkin can sleep at night knowing him and Top have cost kingpower hundreds  of millions  of pounds down the drain .

Those are figures at the end of the 24/25 season. 53mn of the transfer fees were current payables (ie will have been paid in the 12 months following), I would imagine a good chunk of the balance was payable this summer so that should be massively reduced given limited actual purchases since then.

The Macquarie debt is mostly transfer/parachute receivables so as long as the PL or buying clubs don't default will be repaid directly by them. KP amounts will be factored into any sale price and the balance isn't material.

I don't think debt is the issue here, it's lack of income to fund day to day running costs over the next season or so and whether  we have an ownership prepared to accept their trophy asset is worth a lot less than they'd like (especially as they're not selling from a position of strength).

Yes correct I did cover that by saying they should be lower in the next report. Was just keeping it short and answering the question posed

The main quibble on here is quoting accounts that are now more than 12 months out of date.

Until the new accounts are available then what else are people supposed to quote?

We’re in debt , debatable how much but we’re definitely in Debt

then we have a huge lack of income which causes more Debt.
Plus players still at the club on high wages for a League One Club.

= Debt - which is an issue

am I wrong with this analysis?

Am i right in thinking, though, that every club is in debt - even clubs that are sold?

I assume anyone who buys a football club is expecting the club to lose money, and that the value to them is made elsewhere.

Which i'm sure they would rather not have done - but, thanks to 2015/16, it's probably raised the profile of their business significantly enough for it to be considered a successful investment....

Seeing as Boehly essentially requested Strasburg stop trying to make champions league because Chelsea were looking to make it… I’d probably guess this is bad news for us. He would use us as a farm but never let us get to where we’d love to be again.

If Todd Boehly sells his stake, he would no longer have a personal ownership connection to Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace, because Strasbourg is owned by BlueCo—the multi-club holding consortium created jointly by the Boehly-led group and Clearlake Capital. Selling his stake in the parent investment structure ends his tie to the network

By this metric Jason Derulo is about 8x as valuable as Leicester City, I wonder if he could be a potential buyer.

I think it’s more that he is known to have clubs as pure feeders. It doesn’t look clean cut at all. If he sells, it’s because they’ve faked the value of the club. It’s a very good deal for him… which likely means there’s more to it than meets the eye. If he uses the overly inflated fee to purchase us… I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he is still in cahoots with Chelsea. Cheap sales, loans and sales for unwanted shit. We could be on the hook to never grow because anything worth having they will take for shit value.

Best case is that he hates them and just wants out and would actually be a good move for us.

Apparently the realistic asking price they want is closer to £150m. Which to me, still feels astronomical.

I guess we don’t really know, until someone sees the books.

It does seem high for a league one club, however we also have to consider that it does also include Leuven.

It includes a bigger and better training centre and ground which no other league one club has.

Worrying about champions league football is all rather sweet.

It feels unrealistically high to me and I can't see how they're arriving at that figure. The values for Seagrave etc. in the teaser brochure are based on depreciated replacement cost which, whilst I get why they've picked it, doesn't seem relevant for how a Buyer would value them so prob not a great proxy.

If Citi get anything close to 150mn KP should make sure that they get given free Chang/coconuts for life.

That's a potential benefit a few years down the line, but the training ground's operating costs materially increase the losses you have to cover for the first few years so probably drive down the price you'd be willing to pay now?

I think we will end up with US owner. They’re probably the only people willing to take the risk…. Especially with Wrexham and Birmingham being taken over…… we’re still a great pin up for a business and they love a Cinderella story in the states…..

Bring on the Leicester blue foxes!

I remember when Charlton had a stadium with a capacity of 70k whilst they were floundering in the third/fourth tier.  Theoretically they had a large potential income.  In reality the stadium was 80% empty each week.

In the accounts, an asset is what you (the auditor) values it at

in the reality of our situation, an asset is worth what someone would actually pay for it

hence the reason we need a person/group who has so much money that these things don’t matter to them. They want to buy Leicester city !
