I think there will probably be some kind of earn out structure to any deal, which Top won't be happy with. Given the predicament we are in both on and off the field it's something he might have to accept and I'd imagine any serious bidder would be considering.

Everyone is wasting their time thinking that anyone serious would buy this shit show for anywhere near that much money. Its that bad I think its a struggle to give it away!

Are you in the employment of a certain Mr J Ruskin? That's a move straight out of his playbook.

Absolutely this.

But it's Hobson's choice for the little owner. He's months away from the club being unable to continue and it taken out of his hands .....or him needing to find 50 odd million in cash, again, to deposit in the club's accounts.

The best (only) deals I can envisage are either  to accept a low ball flat fee (5m is better than the nothing he gets from insolvency) with earn outs, as you say.

Or, structure a deal where he retains the freeholds on the land, which the new investor has an option on, as & when revenues permit.

Let's hope if that's the case there is no mutually agreed stipulation that someone like Rudkin stays on to oversee their skin in the game. Absolutely terrifying prospect.

Plenty of incredibly wealthy businessmen buy football clubs and lose a fortune on them. It's classic reverse exceptionalism on here that this is a dumb investment and you'd have to be stark raving mad to do it. Probably 1 in 10 clubs are purchased on the back of wanting to turn a profit. For most it's some sort of dickswinging, prestige, ego, an entry fee or whatever spurious reason.

The one thing that helps us is name recognition, even if you put £1 billion (which PSR forbids anyway) into Middlesbrough, Norwich, Reading, whoever - you can't make them as widely known as us. The window of relevance is fading which is the concern, however we are time bomb for KP. Like @Paninistickers said, get something/anything now or relinquish it all for nothing and have the embarrassment (the dreaded Thai 'loss of face'), it wouldn't have played out well for Chansiri so they've had a warning shot.

I would have thought by now everyone  knows how inept  he is at his job, people  with money won't put up with him squandering millions of their money down the drain .Or does he ,try to save his own skin say Top made me do it ,to cling on here .

Certainly could be some hideous clause like that, it will probably be based on promotion or other hurdles so a new buyer wouldn't be bothered if they bought their own team in to do that as it it needs to happen!

Billionaires don't get rich by being stupid.

Objectively false. That said, people with the sort of money Aiyawatt is asking for who have a bit of sense about them are as rare as rocking horse shit.

The "money is no object" types want the fun of the Premier League. They aren't arsed about watching their 200m investment play clubs like Cambridge and Bromley.

I think the King Power family were worth 4-5 billion at one point?

Now they’re desperate to sell for realistically about 120-150m…they must be really struggling in all areas.

Sons of billionaires do.

I recall Charlie Methven speaking on that podcast about us and saying that he suspected that Top was an idiot.  He went on to say that he went to Eton with several sons of billionaires and his observation was that generally they are, indeed stupid.

Vichai was certainly no rich fool.

he knew he was taking a gamble on buying our club but the man was deadly serious under that cuddly smiley exterior. He was always investing time, money and energy.
He probably had a plan A, B & C. We only ever hear about plan A which was to become a top 4 premier league team in 4 years (correct me if I’m wrong). Maybe one day we will hear more about the inner workings of the KP family but they are so secretive. We don’t even hear from former employees so their reach & effectiveness is pretty damn good!

best whistle blower would be Susan ideally.

I've been involved in 3 acquisitions that have all been earn out structures.

In each the existing leadership had to stay as the targets of the earnout were based on their performance. For LCFC, thats a hideous prospect.

Pretty standard in everyday business. Not really the norm in football though thankfully!

Think we hear something before the game Saturday, whether it’ll be good or bad I don’t know, but going by our recent history of stories coming out before games I’m not optimistic

edit: when I say something I mean articles in the paper of some kind, not an actual takeover being imminent

The difference being in business the acquiring entity want or need the existing leadership, knowledge, experience to continue the success.

in our case this is the complete opposite

Will be interesting how the KP will try to keep a lid on potential acquisitions quiet when it’s been so public. My guess is we will hear about any failed offers first. Anything potentially in the works will be extra hush hush for both parties involved.

wonder if Ryan Reynolds has enough cash to buy a 2nd club lol. I mean we are the perfect Hollywood story are let we?
