Must be a good reason we've not seen Woyo based on that performance - he looked strong and good on the ball. 

 

Young lads are exciting...but can we stop with the "better than anything we'll play this season" comments. If we go into this league thinking we're going to walk it then it will spit us out and it won't be pretty. Yes, we won't play many teams as technically as good. But we'll play plenty of teams who will be organised, fight to the death and battle until we fold. That's going to be the hard part this year.

How do we know he was shite, he only played about 20 minutes. I've seen enough today to start him in front of the useless Thomas.

 

The young lads are a pleasure to watch. So much energy & pace & attacking ideas

Today reinforced my view that, if you went down to a Sunday park in Syston and found a competent 17/18 year old playing and then gave him the 7 years of elite training, analysis, diet, fitness and just general conditioning of daily contact with elite professional athletes, they'd be -  at worst - on par with Thomas.

 

Coulibaly is (presumably) a respectable,. unremarkable professional footballer but immediately had that touch, pace and strength that sets himself as a cut above a parks player. Thomas does not.

Woyo looks great going forward but I think he'll leave plenty of space for us to get attacked in. Actually looks like a winger more then a LB.

He very much plays like a wingback who doesn't know where to be as a fullback.

Best post on this forum since the last one I really liked - spot on pal - luke Thomas is absolute 🐴

Losing possession and fighting to get it back. Great to see, especially after being deprived of something so fundamental for the last few seasons.

It's an absolute bloody scandal the likes of Soumare, Winks et al, used to just trot back, not giving a toss.

Might actually be ok against teams playing a low block as long as the number 6, the RB and two CBs cover across the pitch

Anyway, absolutely buzzing about the young lads. Hutchinson and Neale both so good for that third. And the pressing from the front generally. Amazing.

 

Carr looks like a beast as well. Alves, Braybrooke.

 

We feel like a different team with these boys in the side.

really hope we don’t revert to type and end up playing: BDCR - Hamza - Chaplin. Because of experience 🙄

I am very pleasantly surprised at the way the team is playing. There is seemingly a desire to move the ball forward quicker than we’ve seen in the last 3 years. Not what I was expecting from this manager at all.

Unrecognisable team and attitude, even for pre-season I get a really positive feeling watching this team.
 

If Rudkin is reading this: dont panic and bring in 5 washed ex Prem players for the love of god
