Jon the Hat Posted 11 August Posted 11 August I've decided this guy is going to be brilliant, and I will brook no argument to the contrary. 1

If he could build a squad with Billy Beane that should on average generate those runs over a season he was happy. The playoffs were too unpredictable for him to reliably analyse (at least at the time). How many goals do we need to make the top 2? Can we acquire enough players to generate the required XG? Interesting way of looking at it though the way Beane and DePosta did it in MoneyBall would be slaughtered on here as they were happy to sign vets for their final decent season, players deemed unfashionable or unusual players with specific USPs. Basically think Pearson picking up Gray Taylor-Fletcher and Phillips on short term deals. They also weren't afraid to sign, see value climb and then immediately offload before having to hand out a contract at market value. Exactly. And you’re right, Pearson and his team definitely had elements of this - those two are good examples and I remember an article with his chief scout or analyst at the time talking about the acquisitions of people like Wasilewski and Huth on the defensive side, plus we found the likes of Knockaert, Kante and Mahrez who had particular skill sets we needed. Arguably, the 2015 Great Escape team and 2016 PL winners were the pinnacle of this - teams put together by Steve Walsh that combined to much more than the sum of their parts. 1

So has everyone else! When there’s a build up like this, everyone gets excited - if he doesn’t score a couple and headbut someone in his first game, he’ll already be disappointing half of Foxestalk. 3

I'm also unsure how you've managed to use both the correct and incorrect versions of "too" in the same sentence, but apparently I'm the clown... Nobody ridiculed you, you ridiculed yourself. Back to the "foreign office" stevostadium x and that sums up the mentality of you cyber bullies. Aka keyboard warriors. There are a few on here who think they so ITK but no next to zip. There are however, a lot of decent folk on here who i like to share what knowledge i do have. As i said wont bother anymore. I also have to be careful of what i can and cant post on here by not wanting to get folk in trouble. That goose is well and truly cooked now so basically screw you 3
Grebfromgrebland Posted 11 August Posted 11 August As long as he doesn't score a hat trick on his debut I'm ok. It seems to be the kiss of death for our forwards. 2
funkyrobot Posted 11 August Posted 11 August All he has to be is better than BDCR - and that’s as close to 100% guaranteed without me even seeing the lad kick a ball!
wardyfox86 Posted 11 August Posted 11 August If he's as overly aggressive as some of the people in this thread, then he'll be just what we need.
mozartfox Posted 11 August Posted 11 August I will be pleased to see this thread locked now. This is becoming Nicky Maynard on steroids - now there is a thought - may be we turn to youth and have a another crack at signing him?? 1
Edingleyfox Posted 11 August Posted 11 August Really if Leicester are spending so little on a striker around £1m plus add ons it could have been sorted much earlier in pre season. We have no idea if the lad is good enough of course I hope he is but can’t see him starting on Saturday when a good opening game is so important.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 11 August Posted 11 August (edited) What's the betting he won't be fit for Saturday even if he does get announced in the next day or so "Needs a few weeks to get up to speed". "Needs some time to settle with the lads". Edited 11 August by Sol thewall Bamba 1 1
