Agreed. No way is he prepared to come to the stadium and sit in the stands.

Difficult one this

he arrived on 50k

relegation clauses will have that around 30k now.

so we’re contracted to pay him approx £1.2m  to end June 2027 when his contract ends

I think it’s clear that those speaking about fees more than a couple million at the beginning of the week were peeing in the wind

if I was him then I’d be agreeing to terminate at 800k.  If he doesn’t play till the next window then there won’t be a queue of clubs looking to take him on in Jan because he won’t be match fit or sharp and unlikely to contribute effectively until march. so any deal he gets as a free agent in Jan wouldn’t be that rewarding.

he could well miss the whole season.

the club may have had him down as a saleable asset on financial planning but they’ll have to accept that’s an adjustment now.

Don't let your facts get in the way of someone wanting to have a good moan

Exaggerated numbers but a relevant underlying point. Just hope we can get him off the books. At least it’s the last season either way so ideally, someone from a league still open buys for a small fee. Otherwise a loan up to when he walks or mutual termination are fine in this case.

The transfer windows in Portugal, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia are still open so there's still hope we could shift him?

And Greece, where he has been linked to, before.

Underlying point is fine.

Just need to find a why to get him out.

A mutual termination is fine, however I expect he wants more than what we are currently paying him.

I doubt very much we had a relegation clause for div 1. Even if faes has one at all. It was said we didn't have any the first time we got relegated. So is guess it's only players signed since that have them.

Faes was signed when we definitely were inserting clauses. Mentioned by Percy at the time

no one knows if there are L1 clauses. You’d assume that the clause would mention that salary drops by a percentage on relegation and doesn’t distinguish which league you’re dropping into. Should be a standard clause that’s used across the industry

shit from the day he signed, until the day when he finally leaves. there's a reason he hasn't been snapped up its because one his wage demands are high, and the fact he cant defend which is a big factor also. just pay him up and get him away from the club.

That's harsh...

His brace at Anfield was brilliant.

this one is going to end with an end of contract, and then get a send off game like vardy.  rudkins got it sorted

You know full well that the club will be piling the pressure on Martin to start him against Stockport. Signed as a PL player. You know they are doing it.

Personally open to letting it happen. Yes he's a calamity but at least he can control the ball and pass the ball. Has to be better than watching Souttar.

Id play him personally.. pains me to say it but he's our best cb and better with the ball at his feet than the others are

Souttar has been fvcking useless.. we will regret not taking 6-8m for him if thats what the offer was

Thomas has been ok there until Oxford but hes not great

Kanga im excited to see but its a bit risky atm as hes unknown

Ohora apparently is a vocal leader but is from the Scottish league so cant judge his ability until seen him play.. Saturday hopefully, alongside Wout

So yea, id rather see a pr1ck who in any othet time I wouldnt want to see in Blue again, lead our line on Saturday because he is our best option
