Rocky start, then no complaints up until the equalizer.

Then Martin brings on BDCR and Cullen. And down the toilet it goes.

Still, plenty of positives. Centre-back pairing worked (for most part), there was energy, good passing game.

Youngsters were impressive.

Kinda the nearly team tonight. We played some wonderful football but constantly gave it away far too easily and got punished for two in particular. Ipswich were arguably even more sloppy first half but we didn’t make them pay. It’s a bit worrying just how few chances we’re creating. That’s 4 goals now for the season and 3 of them have come from defenders….

Keep playing like that though and we’ll be fine. I think…

Although, I do think we’ll look better against better sides. Still not convinced this football can work in L1….

We played some very good football at times but we dont create too much. Some players in this team are very pleasing on the eye with the ball but I cant see where goals will come from.

Also Ive decided I think Cullen is shite and im not going to change my mind.

Russ needs to start this same side, except Alves in for Watson and Thomas out, for Saturday.

We did much better without the washed sloggers. Chaplin seemed a positive figure on the pitch.

Not many teams in league 1 will be as clinical as Ipswich. We actually played out from the back much better despite a few errors still.

Keep giving these chances away won't help though, regardless of opposition. There are a lot of half decent sides in League One who will take the chances we gift them.

I know it's never gonna stop under Martin but we absolutely kill ourselves with playing out from the back at the most inopportune times.

So easy to press against and we don't have the quality of players to combat it or realise when it's too risky to persist with.

It's bloody infuriating. Perhaps League One teams will be less clinical but it doesn't veer away from the fact how overly pointless yet dangerous it can be.

Martin has to hold strong and trust the lads that have put in good performances tonight!!

That’s more like the Leicester we saw it pre-season, energy, composure and if it wasn’t for a few sloppy giveaways we could be going to penalties

Onto Saturday

Which it won't be

It'll be a different game. We will be against a team thats trying for the full game and won't give us the space we had tonight.

Good to see the young lads pinging it about confidently, but i think it'd be naive to think we will see a change in the league.

I'm gonna need to see some consistent evidence before I believe it anyway haha.

It wasn't without its red flags, but lots more positive than previous games, which isn't saying much admittedly.

Team selections will be interesting now. He has no excuse to pick the wasters after that.

Just really hope Aluko isn't injured because he should be straight in Saturday.

Result flatters them of course. Lots to take from it positive wise but also a few concerning things!

We’ve played some great football at times and looked far superior, created plenty of chances. But I think every single goal we conceded came from us not being disciplined or simply overplaying. I also cannot see us being given that much space in the league.

Some decent individual performances. Hopefully McFarlane starts at full back going forward and Chaplin starts ahead of Cullen. Page had a great time until the last 5 when he looked battered and was at fault for their goal.

Need a new keeper, striker, box to box midfielder, a decent couple of centre half’s who don’t pish about at the back. Just short half  a complete new team and we got a week to do it.

We looked much better tonight, I’m just pissed off we threw a fairly good chance of going through away because we’ve ****ed about at the back yet again.

Thought we actually played well, nice to see the centre mids playing so well without Skipp being his negative self in there! Howell impressed me aswell

I don't think it should be overlooked how (barring a couple of newer players) we matched a PL team for fitness tonight.  Not to mention were generally the better team.

First goal looked offside, and two goals just getting enough of the woodwork - hopefully soon, we'll start getting a bit of that luck.
