90 point target

According to that Percy piece the club have set a 90 point target for the season 

 

Over a 46 game season that’s 1.95 points per game. 
 

After 7 games we’re averaging 1.28

 

With 39 games remaining we now need 2.07. 

At Southampton he averaged 1.58 ppg

 

I’ll update this every game.

Last 3 seasons would be 15-13-15, 90 points would get you 3rd place last 3 seasons so playoffs was always the target?

I think we will improve over the season due to the large player turnover. However, this doesn’t detract from the horrific playing style this club is obsessed with. It appears we are stuck with it as if they sack him the same style manager would still be sought, I just feel what’s the point. Under this regime I guess we just have to suck it up and hope the players can push through despite the obvious drawbacks.

We are certainly not getting 90pts, that is for sure. We will officially be a slug in this league for a few years, if we're not in administration before then.

I mean, it’s shit at the moment and we all know it. But even being as crap as we are we will trudge through the season winning 1 in 3 on average.  We will get to 40 points easily enough with room to spare.  I see us sitting somewhere between 50 and 60 when it comes to the business end.

Google Gemini reckons Martin has won 27 points in his last 39 league games. 

 

So he needs to triple his recent points tally to hit a target that might not be enough to take us up automatically. 

 

Apparently our directors are "convinced" we are heading in the right direction.

If it genuinely was a 90 point target. Then the statement of him having time and being safe in his job is completely contradictory.

 

The lowest amount of wins we need over the remainder of the season to achieve that is 21.... but that would include 18 draws... AKA being unbeaten for the rest of the season  

 

If we win every other game from now until the end of the season we get 20 more victories so miss the low target above.

 

You just know that no one internally will be thinking this statistically. They'll be pointing to some sort of miracle 15 match winning run between November and Feb or something like that. 

 

To any sane person he's already failed in his target and should be held accountable for that.

There is zero evidence that we will get anywhere near 90 points. We are on course for 59 which seems more realistic.
