Should be allowed to spend what you want so long as it's fronted by your owners and there's money set aside for the club if it goes tits up for the owner to protect the existence of the club

Said this when they allowed clubs to start sueuing eachother that I think this will be the end/lead to serious reform of the Premier League. So many teams will have legitimate gripes against Man City, and the legacy of what they were allowed to get away with. Gonna be carnage

Does this mean spurs are not bottom of the league?

Will be the season they are in the relegation zone at the end of the season and Man City end up going down so they get away with it 😂

"Club seeking legal advice", I bet they are.

They've had years to evaluate every possible scenario. Being found guilty should've been at the top of that list.

I suspect they will use the Juventus precedent by removing all titles, trophies from the record books and leaving them unassigned. I don't think they should be awarded to runners up.

Then relegated, fined.

I don’t like this being used as an excuse for our demise like it excuses the actions of Aiyawatt.

It can be true that the actions of Man City impacted those seasons but as has been said so often, it didn’t result in the years of decisions that have continued to shaft us time and time again.

If we finished 4th instead of 5th we would have dished out MORE unsustainable contracts on shit players and breached FFP by a greater distance. We’ve seen what Top’s LCFC do, an extra £50m in revenue would not have helped us an iota.

Yeah we’ve had a lot of sliding doors moments.

19/20

20/21

22/23

We would’ve found a way to **** these up even if we made it to the Champions League or stayed up.

Unless I've misunderstood, the years they have been found to have cheated in only runs to 2018, with charges from then to 2023 only relating to them not cooperating with the investigation.

So not sure how you claim damages on the basis that it directly caused Rodgers bottling top 4 in 2020 and 2021.

So once they made themselves the complete financial dominant force in English football, subsequent years don’t apply?

If I was to commit fraud, net myself 2million, invest that and double it, then does that not matter? Man City achieved their dominance due to how they behaved during those years. They needed massive sales on players they illegally acquired.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda...

Praying that somehow we'll get some retribution for someone else's misdemeanours? I think we need to focus on the here and now.

The road ahead is going to be bumpy to say the least. Even if we throw our hat in the legal quagmire, we aren't going to see anything out of it for some time even if we were successful in apportioning blame to them somehow,

The KP worshippers will use this as the excuse for our demise….

To dismiss it having some what of an impact is silly, in the same way it is also part KP’s fault. Both are true

They don’t. UEFA charges are case closed. It was UEFAs own rules which overturned it.

PL don’t administer entry into Champions League

Man City were originally banned by UEFA from their competitions when we finished 5th, but it was eventually over turned.

Our owners ****ed up massively but if I was Top I would  be suing the ass out of them, UEFA and the PL.

Can’t see them getting more than a hefty fine, suspended points deduction or transfer embargo.

The PL won’t dare take any serious action against them. This is going to be a very interesting situation. Given their relentless pursuit of us Forest and Everton………. They’ve got absolutely no choice but to effectively end them…. But will they?  Will they bollocks.

It would be incredible if somehow the money we'd could get may solve leicester's problems.

I'm not sure how admission to a lower league would even work in these circumstances as it's without precedent since the Premier League breakaway happened. People talking about a straightforward "relegate them" scenario forget that the EFL is a separate entity and has absolutely no obligation to admit them.

In the circumstances that Man City are relegated / kicked out of the PL, that opens up the possibility that the EFL may either refuse to have them, or at the very least drag their heels over it, not least because as we know there are numerous teams in their own pyramid with direct grievances against them who will now be lining up cases for compensation.

I fully expect us to pursue something over the 2 years of missed UCL football and the finances it would have generated, and there's also an argument for the season after where we finished 8th but West Ham in 7th got Conference League and won it, effectively bagging 2 years of extra European revenue. We all know that our downfall was almost entirely self-inflicted and that this will embolden our moron ownership to somehow deflect the blame, but at the same time there's a valid case there for those three seasons based purely on us losing revenue due to Man City's presence.

Realistically I imagine the EFL are licking their lips at the possibility of Man City doing a Rangers-type drop to League Two and getting three years minimum of the exposure / cash cow that it would generate having them working their way back up. But there's also the possibility they might have to drop all the way to non-league before they find an organisation willing to have them.

Which opens up the other possibility, which is that Man City have nowhere to go and use this to brazenly push for the Super League again...

Premier league seem to be happy bending or adapting the rules for certain clubs, chelsea i think have a got a few questions surrounding them also. West Ham in 2007 should have been docked six points and would have gone down.

Questions....

If the punishment is relegation, when does that happen? How will the accommodate them in? Extra team gets promoted? If they win a cup this season or win the premier league, what then? Do they stop them playing this season completely?

If they get a points deduction this season, do they get a clean slate next season even if they're relegated? That doesn't seem fair. Or do the get points deduction again? What if they win the FA cup this season, do they play in Europe?

One thing is for certain a lengthy transfer ban should be in place whatever else happens. Should be for years.

They cheated full stop, but what a mess they have created. I feel for the fans

I would imagine, with appeals and dates, if (big if) they decide to take the nuclear option of relegating them x amount of leagues, they will purposely drag it out till the end of the season then give a reprieve to the team finishing 18th in the Prem, if it's League One also the Championship 22nd, if it's League Two also the team finishing 21st, etc etc.

If it's being implemented mid season and they want them out the Prem they will just have to slap them with a 100 point deduction to make it a formality that they go down.

As long as it's done correctly the EFL will have no choice but to take them, an automatic relegation wont be done mid season it's impossible to implement. The literal only thing the PL could do if they are kicking them out mid season is remove them from the league ala a team that went bust then inform the EFL they are one of the relegated teams and they need placing in X division.

I don't see that happening, personally think the worst they will get is a doom sentance of a points deduction.
