Unforgivable on Netflix with Sandra Bullock.

Brilliant tense film.

Not your standard Hollywood bs.

No surprise you'd like "Sandy B" with that username.

(She always brings it...)

Just as a matter of interest do the younger members of this forum watch any older films. For example anything older than themselves. Sorry if a boring question but genuinely would like to know

I was born in 87 and my favourite director is probably still Alfred hitchcock. I love a lot of old films, mainly Sci Fi like the day the earth stood still, planet of the apes, quartermass, the old creature feature films. There are still good films about and the spectacle these days is awe inspiring, especially in films by people like Nolan and Villenue, but there's just something lovely about a reasonably tall bloke in a rubbish suit running about chasing screaming people I'll always love.

Thank you. Always been a fan of film noir Good to know the old films are not forgotten. I know the style of acting can seem old fashioned to modern audiences but some good films out there

Watch many films and old B&W TV series on Talking Pictures.

As you say; they can seem very dated but have a charm about them and, if you allow me a possible sexist comment, the women dressed in the fashion of the time - 40s/50s etc. look fabulous.

Just in case you've not seen these old but good I recommend 2 early Kubrick films. Heist movie called The Killing and anti war film Paths of Glory.

I like all his films even eyes wide shut isn't absolutely terrible. I love old horror films too, alien still one of if not my favourite film, the shining, the exorcist, the innocents, texas chain saw massacre, suspiria etc.

To Be Someone - Quite possibly the worst film I’ve ever seen.

I turned it off after 5 min 😂

Back in time we laughed at some of the amateur looking models or back screens before more sophisticated technologies or real life action. Now some CGI is fine in modern films but some of it is as risible as the old models. Just saw the trailer for Midway. What a ridiculous and unconvincing excuse for an action sequence

Scream 5 - Well made but a waste of time. It spends so much effort trying to be the first film, it errr... just ends up too much like the first film but with new characters and a couple of old ones thrown in! It even tells you that's what it's doing in the first act!!

Pointless. 5/10.

Just saw the trailer for moonfall coming out this year. Cast looks decent and I like sci fi, but this seems like the most generic space disaster sci fi movie ever?

Done by the same guys who did Independence Day, day after tomorrow and 2012. I wasn't sure if this was a spoof. Trailer looked dodgy. Halle berry I dunno, ever since she did Bond I cant say I've seen in anything good since... playing jinx certainly jinxed her acting career.

Ahh makes sense. Had a 2012 sort of vibe. But yeah also thought it looked spoofy / over the top.

Synchronic. Really enjoyed it. Sci Fi time travel flick, bit daft but good way to spend 90 minutes. Jamie Dornans American accent was nearly breaking a few times, the Irish was definitely sneaking through. 7/10.

Is he in everything these days? lol

Clean

Adrien Brody movie.  Extremely slow and violent.

Got tired of it after about an hour.  I understand why this movie was shelved for a year before being released.

Never much cared for Adrian brody as an actor I think it's his worldie conker that puts me off. Couldn't take him seriously in Predators, totally miscast.

He was incredible in the pianist, very good film. Not sure after that though
