Saw Morbius last night.

Wasn't as bad as I'd read it was, but was nothing special either. Story and acting was fine for a setup film. Couple of MCU stingers at the end too.

5/10.

Watched the new Fantastic Beasts film today. Thought it was actually the most interesting of the 3 so far. Don't think Johnny Depp is really missing and Jude Law does a great job as a younger Dumbledore.

The one thing that baffles me is for most of the film I thought Mads Mikkelsen and Oliver Massuci were the same person lol

They look and sound so alike it's uncanny :o

did anyone watch 'Locke' (2013)  basically the entire film is Tom hardy making phone calls from his car...sounds dull right? well actually compelling viewing..anyway ive just seen 'Nightride' on netflix and its a similar concept where its all done in one take and its mostly one character (in this case a drug dealer in N. ireland) making phonecalls whilst driving around and again its really good...

I really enjoyed Locke. I quite like films like that that are really simple but it's all about the dialogue and the story.

I recently watched a Jake Gyllenhaal film called The Guilty (also Netflix) which I think I recommended it earlier in this thread. Very similar style.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out.

Anyone seen 99 homes? Looks pretty good and is on iPlayer

The one with Andrew Garfield?  I like it-the storyline setting is different than the norm which makes for a nice change.

The Batman was decent, didn't need to be 3 hours long though

Film editors dont seem to do much these days movies are really pushed to the limit in their screen time. Action thrillers should not be any longer then 2 hours unless if it's a final movie of a trilogy in that case 2hrs 30 mins at most.

Just watched Doctor Strangelove again. If anyone hasn’t yet seen it yet, it’s a genuine classic, directed by Kubrick. A nuclear apocalyptic black comedy with Peter Sellars playing 3 roles including the magnificent creation Strangelove himself. Other standouts are George C Scott as a gung ho general, and Slim Pickens as the B52 pilot. Also keep a lookout for a young James Earl Jones.

Noticed for the first time that the crackpot general’s name is Gen Jack D Ripper.

It was made in 1964, so not long after the Cuban missile crisis during the Cold War, and seems to be somehow relevant in today’s uncertain world. In black and white by the way.

Loosely based on Gen Curtis LeMay, head of US Strategic Air Command, instigator of the firebombing of Tokyo in WWII and who advocated for a full invasion of Cuba and subsequent escalation right from the start of the CMC. Thank whatever powers govern the universe that he didn't get his wish.

No he plays a wanna be comedian with psychotic mental health issues.

Its actually very dark but utterly brilliant.

Dont watch it with young kids though if you have any.

Oh yeah, bloody hell. Good job my mate  @HighPeakFox hasn't seen that.

I swear it's getting harder to type on a phone.

Kids take the p1ss as I still use my one finger instead of all hands and fingers and at a million letters per second!!!

I get dizzy watching my 13 year old on her phone!!
