Started to rewatch the Harry Potter franchise haven't probably watched in nearly ten years, certainly bringing back some good memories have to say I do feel Chris Columbus got the balance right in terms of director. Movies he directed seem to feel pretty fun and colourful, after that I dunno the series perhaps went a tad too serious and a lot scenes where it was so dark you can't hear or see what's going on.

I always thought the Columbus ones were the best. They capture the magic of the world so much more than the later films.

If you watch Bond just try and enjoy it for what it is, a big budget action film.

It is not James Bond, its 2 and a half hours of box ticking for this generation.

agreed

here's my fav Daniel Craig movies in order:

1)Casino Royale

2)Skyfall

3)Spectre

4)No time to die

5)Quantum of solace

Watched the Candyman reboot. Thought it was a big missed opportunity given the strength of cast and writing behind it. The original was scary and memorable and I thought this wasn’t remotely chilling and far too politicised.

I'd probably swap Spectre and No Time in that ranking, Spectre just I find messy and had terrible pacing. It's probably the only Bond movie in which I feel it drags. Funny really No Time To Die is the longest but with its Action it doesn't feel that long.

No Time To die. 6/10. Not in keeping with the franchise. Film trying to appease to much to society. More of a romcom than a bond film.

Wouldn’t go that far, but yes, it was a bit different from the norm.

I quite liked some of the Wokey moments, tbh.

About half way through I was really enjoying it, but then it dipped a bit (for me) towards the end.

New Scream trailer from the makers of Ready Or Not

Looking forward to seeing this. The Scream films have a pretty solid history of playing with horror/social and general film troupes and twisting them around.

Says a lot to me about where this is going the fact it’s just called, “Scream” rather than Scream 5 (and the fact it’s got  Stu’s house as a filming location) it suggests there will be a focus on messing with the idea of reboots that are commonplace in film nowadays.

Looks clever, more intense and the fact the new writers managed to persuade Kevin Williamson back on board for the project gives me hope this could be very good, roll on January

edit - if I was to guess a twist I’d have two separate killers who are hunting the different sides of the cast - the new kids with one killer (new character) and then the established characters with a killer from the past (old character) Then it’s kinda a reboot one side and a final chapter on another. Always fun to speculate these films.

second edit - my moneys on the killer from the past not being Stu as rumoured - but Randy. His death in Scream 2 didn’t seem 100% legit to me - it looked fake in comparison to the others, he could have filmed the Scream 3 cameo after he was alleged to have died - playing into his character of being the smart guy who really understands horror. No horror villain would have ever gone to these lengths before, he would become the biggest horror villain of time over all his idols - and let’s not forget it was very apparent in the first film he had a crush on Sidney and wasn’t what she went for - she went for the more “good looking guys” ...not the nerds. His love for her and being unable to be with her destroys him over the years so he needs to know she’s gone. Just a theory but I guess that’s how I’d write it 😂 also if Stu is potentially a second killer it would explain why Randy wasn’t killed in Scream 1 when he literally walked right behind him 🤔

cant see anyone really talking about "Beckett" on Netflix.

really dull title with a very understated beginning i almost turned it off...then it turns into one of the most gripping action thrillers i've seen in ages...if your turned off by all that fantasy techno thriller popcorn stuff where the lead is buff and it asks you suspend disbelief a little too much but you like a 90 minute thrill ride then give it a go

Watched free guy the other day. Overall I enjoyed it, not a bad premise and an easy watch.

Not as good as ready player one, but certainly an enjoyable watch.

I just can't get over how the start is almost the except same as the Lego movie though. I was just waiting for him to break into everything is awesome.

Halloween Kills.  Pretty decent on the whole even though there were parts that were great, there were also parts that dragged (such as the hospital mob scenes).  Definite pacing issues throughout.  Felt more disjointed compared to the 2018 film.  The atmosphere was great though and the musical score was brilliant.  The 1970s scenes were also excellently done.

Confusing ending too.  I'm not sure everything is as it seems with how they ended it.  We shall see next year!

Really looking forward to this, going to be a proper darkside of Batman

Also could not tell at all that it is Colin Farrell playing Penguin

It's lucky the henchmen are all trained to aim at his bulletproof armour instead of the exposed fleshy face region.

Thought they did a great job of turning Michael into Jason Voorhees during the first 30 minutes.

IMO, went downhill pretty fast once Tommy Doyle showed up.

If these films get much darker we'll soon be watching just a black screen

I saw the trailer for this when I went to see Bond, and immediately decided it looked shit.

Saw them filming a few bits of this in Liverpool last year. The scene on top of the Liver building and a couple others are pretty clear.

It does look interesting but there's something about Pattinsons face that is incredibly annoying.
