Apprently the real reason these were made is so that in the event of an accident and the possibiliy of the baby being thrown from the car, the emergency services would know to look for it away from the car.

Absolutely. But, let's face it, that's not the reason people use them nowadays.

What do they stand for?

I don’t have one in my car, but seems to me that it’s a gentle plea to the dickhead road users we all know exist to try their best not to involve them in a car accident that might harm their baby?

Problem is I see as many dickhead road users with a baby on board sticker in the back as I do without. Hypocrisy at its finest

Quite. And why does a baby give you dispensation to not be involved in a car accident as opposed to those of us without children? Point is, dickheads won't discriminate.

Because babies are much more at risk if involved in a car accident? Seems a weird thing to get quite so wound up by tbh.

Seems like you're the one doing the judging mate but hey ho hey ho

I thought this section was about us being allowed to say what bugged us? Had i judged you, fine, but one or two people seem a little concerned that I might not like these. I'm not judging you, am I?

As I understand it, the Baby on Board stickers are an attempt to reach the 'dickheads' at a subconscious level, since psychologically we are hard-wired to be protective over babies, even other peoples.

I hope that's true, I really do.

Never considered that before, not a bad point. Although made redundant because I doubt people take them down when the baby isn't actually on board. Still.

I've previously considered them stupid because, yknow, it's not like you're going to try and crash in to them, see they have a baby and go "oh I better not run them off the road, otherwise I was all game."

When a band/artist makes a great song as an EP or demo and then they change it completely for the album.

But surely if you've got the EP/Demo that you like anyway you can just listen to that? And you get a bonus different version of the song on the album, no?

Yeah it's a very niche OCD moan to be honest.

I have a female colleague who joined my place of work at the same time as I did and although she was hired a step further up the ladder to me for a more responsible role while I started at the bottom to work my way up, we've been doing the same training until now because it's important for her to know how to perform every aspect of the job before she can assume the role she was hired for.  Unfortunately for her I have a bit more experience with this kind of role and as a result I've adapted to it a bit better, providing more efficient service on most fronts.  But it's not just that which makes me a more valuable employee than her, I've also got a significantly better work ethic.  To give a small example:  If it falls to her to empty the bins and put new bags in she doesn't tie the bag off to stop it inevitably slipping down, leaving rubbish and liquid pooling in the bin itself - basic stuff which takes a few seconds.  When I tried gently showing her how to do it properly she brushed it off as something she normally does but missed out that one time because "I know, but I didn't want to bend down".  She hasn't tied any bins off since that I've noticed.  That's just one small nit-pick off the top of my head but I think it gives a good indication of her general attitude to all areas of the job.

The result of this is that the management have taken notice of our disparate abilities and approaches to the job and have already furnished me with the necessary literature to commence training me up to the level that she was supposedly hired at while she's still being treated as somebody lower down the ladder in need of further training before she can start making the step up.  None of that is what grinds my gears  - well, having lazy colleagues in general annoys me but that's not what I'm in here for - no, what bothers me is that when the subject of me being given the training book came up between us I was nice about it and pretended not to understand why I've received the book first, but her response?  To mutter "male privilege" under her breath.  Fvck off, literally just fvck off and take a look at yourself before blaming the patriarchy for the fact that your bosses noticed your lack of application at work.  This is exactly the sort of person I'm talking about whenever I suggest that feminism in the developed world has turned toxic.

The world is full of people who blame others or other things for their own inadequacies, it’s a shame really because until they recognise it, it will continue to hold them back.

I wish I could find my old work ethic at the minute, I’ve just lost all motivation at work recently :(

That it is.  I wish I could give you sage advice about rediscovering your motivation but if I knew the key to that I wouldn't be where I am now! :D
