Quite enjoyed the story but this coverage is proper putting me off her

Her next big opponent is the media.

After such a fantastic achievement it is inevitable she will be headline news & will have to learn to deal with her sudden change of circumstances.

She seems intelligent & strong willed, I'm sure she will be ok.

We're supporting the Russian fella here right?

Part of me wants to see a bit of history, and a calendar year slam is a rare event.

Medvedev producing the dead fish fifa celebration after winning, what a guy lol

I’m glad he came through that tbh, crowd were being absolute willy pullers.

This is what the ATP has desperately needed, someone to knock off one of the big three in a Slam final.

Hopefully it now becomes the norm.

Well done Medvedev.

3 memories from the final:

Good - Medvedev's forehand

Bad - The crowd jeering, booing and whistling everytime Medvedev served in his last 2 service games. So disrespectful.

Ridiculous - Stan Smith matching his suit with what appeared to be a gleaming white pair of Stan Smith tennis shoes at the presentation. I guess he gets free pairs, even now!

Oh, and another.... the guy wearing our current home shirt in the crowd!

Guess it looked like Medvedev had played 5 hours less on court with more energy etc ?

Well done to him finally getting a Grand Slam after being so close in 2019.

Djokovic had nothing left to give in response.

Why? She has no control over the jackass media. One can only comment about her personality from the evidence accrued from her behaviour in her matches and interviews. She plays ferociously good tennis and handles herself well in the post-match fawning.

She'll be the fifteen-minute darling of the media. As long as she keeps winning they'll love her. And, as long as she loves playing the circuit, that's fine.

I hope she withdraws in four years with a string of GS titles, gets a life outside of tennis and disappears from the media gaze.
