Ben Stokes?..

The guy seems to have totally lost the plot.

That  said I would like   nothing more, that there is some mitigating circumstances, that Shows the Incident in

another light, and Stokes Stupidly retaliated, and was at first not the aggressor ......Naive hope I suppose.

Owen Jones is brilliant.

He's the Richard Littlejohn of the Left.

Just talks over people, constantly changes his definition of things to match his ideology, doesn't listen to opponent's arguments in debates etc. etc. He's the absolute definition of a champagne Socialist ideologue.

That video of him trying to defend Venezuela is one of the cringiest things I've ever seen.

Brilliant at being a cringeworthy knob of the highest order. Like a lot of lefties, unable to engage in rational debate with people who have different opinions.

It's hardly a phenomenon unique to the left wing now, is it?

No, it's not unique to them but many of them do, in my experience, excel (if that is the right word) at having such a hatred of people who think differently that it precludes any reasonable kind of conversation.

Both groups excel at that. If you pin yourself as left or right you're ultimately limiting your willingness to understand other's opinions, I've seen plenty of right-wingers on here and elsewhere claim in a spiteful way that the youth only voted Corbyn because he 'blackmailed' them just as I've seen plenty of lefties whitewash Brexit voters as nationalistic morons. Being a 'staunch supporter' of any party, especially in these times, is pretty stupid in my opinion.

Personally I think it's just that a lot of people are hostile to discordant opinions regardless of their political views.  I also note that as a species we're prone to overlooking behaviour by our allies that we'd pick up on our opponents doing.

That is a very good point.

PS It took me years to realise that many people have such entrenched views (football, politics etc) that any kind of rational, reasonable debate on forums, social media etc can be pretty pointless.

Self opinionated some what!!!!!

Whether lefties or Righties, or middle groundies, chose either group ,and like you, love boxing

One group only , into singular Characteristics, often just to prove their own individual arguments/opinions....

That is what ..... really Is cringeworthy.....

I do believe some are entrenched, that they actually believe, its weak to even attempt to comprimise and slightly change their stance...or opinions.

That said I have come across many strong characters, that like to be involved in good debate and are willing to listen to others, too see othersides from any arguments, to change their stance on Subjects, along any slide rule of any measured acceptance..

IMO  its showing a good strength in character, when one change their views and opinions during their journey through life....

That why for me..political whips, and media pressure for political parties to show they tow and follow the same policies from within.  The strength of any Democracy is the opposite opinions within the individual parties. The Backbenchers in the UK have lost alot of power ....

We need the individual arguments within our society, even those who follow one party should view and be listened to when their opinions ride a different wave to that party's Staus quo...

Again thats Democracy...

Too many young men have died fighting for that belief in 2 WWs, to be Forgotten buried Now in

Self-Opionated Groups, who like their whips and bash-street-kids Philosophy.

These gutteral hate campaigns and wise crack against the individual party leaders, are immature, the use of humerous rhetoric and expression, is good British wile, but the last 20-40 years the long run hate campaigns, and spite on the political platforms, mean we have lost the plot, and the electorate are being failed, because politics is now just built on mis-information,

The young-Generation have no chance, to make, create, or generate even thought on political-ideas, that they can stand and hold on  to..

There's obviously far worse things in this thread, but for me this is what being a c**t is all about.  The dishonesty, the grabbing, the willingness to f*** a business over because, you know, that's fine. Really shite at it, though.

Completely agree with everything you've just said! And I don't like sticking to individual parties for this reason (and have voted for all 3 major parties in the past)

But that being said, I absolutely do think this is a phenomenon of the Left even more than it is the Right or the Centre (although it absolutely does exist there a lot too) and I do feel that there is a much bigger stigma attached to being a Tory or Right of centre and more people will sneer at you for voting Tory or being Right of centre and just bash everything because it's the Tories than they will do for voting Labour or bash everything because it's Labour or because you're Left of centre.

It's also always been really notable how the far-Right is rightly castigated by nearly everyone, but the far-Left doesn't seem to get anywhere near the same treatment and I've never understood it - why does such an obvious and vile evil not get the same treatment as another obvious and vile evil does? As Andrew Neil once said to a certain shadow home secretary - "why is it you can wear a Hitler t-shirt and (rightly) get castigated for it, but if you wore a Mao t-shirt no one would bat an eyelid?" - I mean people actually wear Che Guevara t-shirts as a sign of pride ffs!

I guess it's because Conservatism by definition is the establishment and it's always been trendy to be anti-establishment - let's not forget how trendy it was to be a Trotskyite in the 70s and the reason people still bizarrely claim to be anti-Capitalist and support Socialism after 100 years of its Utopian delusions have failed time after time and murdered well over 100million people is because it's anti-establishment.
