sdb Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 Curtis needs to make his plans public before he ruins Xmas altogether.
Edmund Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 In his words "AT THE MINUTE, coming to Leicester on loan for the season is the most likely option" Amazingly - they aren't anything like the words he is using to people in Brum. Football contacts war
CupidStunt Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 The article says, Wolves and Stoke are interested. Would have thought he would he could eventually break into their side Whether you like him or not he has always been highly rated CB who has come into form and as you say we have been the shop window. I had an debate with someone on hear before about Davies and made the point that he has 2 years left on his contract at Villa, if a prem club comes in and offers him another prem league wage for four years then based on £20 k per week that around a cool £2m, what would you do? we can afford that ...........cant we?
Father Ted Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 Didn't say anything about you giving a shit did i? You have some silly little vendetta against me, and always seem to attack me when I post stuff about players. I don't attack your "info". Maybe it's time to get your head out of your own arse, and stop being so ignorant and arrogant. I'll not hold my breath mind. Merry fucking Christmas. You're not the only one.
hackneyfox Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 His agent may well be playing games. Villa don't want him back. I don't see why he would sign for Wolves as they may well go down. He may yet end up here.
Corky Posted 24 December 2010 Posted 24 December 2010 Just hope a decision is reached soon, so we can prepare for him staying longer or make plans to find a replacement early in the transfer window.

Hes better than wolves anyway he could get in alot of the top 10 teams in the prem.Be very happy if he came to us but carnt see it when four prem teams are after him paying double our wages.
Daggers Posted 25 December 2010 Posted 25 December 2010 Football contacts war Not really. I was simply pointing out the contradiction in the statements Davis is coming out with, and the stories around Villa, compared to what Bert has obviously heard. He needs to learn to read a bit better and stop being so sensitive. That, or use the damn ignore function.
turkish14 Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 imo another uninspiring performance today....starting to see why he is 5th choice at villa (im aware he has been injured)always stands off players and seems to have poor positional awareness, seems to be the only defender who hoofs it when there are options of playing the ball. Is it just me or do others think we should not even consider putting in a bid?
CosbehFox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Is it just me or do others think we should not even consider putting in a bid? I said similar two weeks ago but was shot down by someone who claimed him to be the best defender in the league. His attitude and brain is problem, not his body or his ability. Lacks the bottle too to be a top, top defender.
turkish14 Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 i agree with what you have said, bar the 1st home game where he looked good, every other game i have seen him which are all the home games he leaves me feeling nervous every time he is anywhere near the ball. I have been more impressed with hobbs and vitor(even if hobbsy has looked shaky at times)
Anish Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 He was utter garbage today. I've seen him a few times now and he's getting progressively worse in my opinion. He was beaten in the air far too many times by Becchio today, who ran rings around him at times. Last week he was a calamity and this week he wasn't much better - our defence really is struggling (apart from Naughton) to contain opposing strikers. His position sense and strength are questionable, especially for somebody of his experience.
Jacnah Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Most of the goals we have been conceding have come from centre forward area, plus 3 away defeats on the bounce, he's hardly been keeping the back door shut, let him go we can find someone who can be more affective than Curtis Davis. this good player but not THAT good
ithuriel Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 He looked very disinterested yesterday, obviously got himself in the shop window and now just playing out his time here until January. At least that is what it appeared to me.
Craig Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 The way he surges forward with the ball, gives it away, and leaves us open at the back terrifies me. There was one occasion yesterday where he did just that, but because Naughton was forward too, it meant that Hobbs was dragged wide, leaving Cunningham with Becchio and another Leeds player. Luckily nothing came from it. I found it amusing in the first few games, but it's quite worrying now. Can't say I'd be too disappointed if he left, as long as we find a decent replacement.
Zingari Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Wolves are considering bids for Aston Villa's Curtis Davies, who is currently on loan at Leicester, and Middlesbrough's David Wheater as manager Mick McCarthy wants to strengthen the centre of his defence. http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2010/12/28/wolves-targeting-villas-curtis-davies-in-transfer-window/
themotivator Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 i think that i have been less impressed by davies than most from the off, but i have a feeling that if he were to be here permenantly then he could settle into being a real asset. would be a shame if he was pinched by wolves or someone and went on to be anything close to great.

sdb Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Form has dropped no doubt about it. Naughton is the priority for me (any info insiders?) but Davies would still be a great addition as I believe once settled he'll be a real assit, espec at this level.
deep blue Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 Richard Stearman obviously not good enough for premier league! He looked embarrassingly out of his depth on Sunday.

That's quite a fall. I'm starting to see why MON fell out with him. Great ability but, as people have pointed out, the attitude is lacking.
wattolcfc Posted 28 December 2010 Posted 28 December 2010 He looked embarrassingly out of his depth on Sunday. Agreed, he was worse than awful! Didn't win one header, skinned easily and didn't even make an effort to block their second goal... good riddance!
