I've tried multiple times to get in to MMA and I just... can't.

I just don't find it interesting. I know that boxing has boring bouts, I know we get a lot of fights that are just circle, circle, jab, clinch on repeat.

But I'd still rather watch that than literally any grappling.

I swear every time I watch some "world class!" UFC guys fight its just literally five minutes of two blokes hugging each other on the floor with one guy wiggling occasionally to get away. It's so fvcking dull.

If it was all striking styles I'd be more inclined but given that a good grappler seems to trump a good striker 9/10 it just fvcking kills it.

And they're all fvcking crap by the standards of top boxers anyway. When a UFC "legendary striker" can get his ass kicked by Jake fvcking Paul then I'm sorry your sport has seriously low credibility. And I don't want to hear "yeah but he's old!", motherfvcker B-Hop was out there having title fights against top shelf boxers when he was like 73. Mike Tyson would murder JP in one round with one hand ffs.

Silva not out there losing because he's an ancient cripple, he's only 40 odd. Man lost because he's just a bang average boxer.

Well yeah, if you dont understand what the fighters are doing on the floor e,g getting into better positions, vying for a submission then you would find it boring. Personally, i find it a lot more interesting than watching a top boxer getting fed a journeyman who works down the chip shop and KO'ing him in 5 rounds and seeing about 5 good fights in a whole year

Yeah but you're talking about two different things aren't you.

I absolutely 100% wish that boxing was centralised, had one main governing body that managed a set of belts and organised contests. I dislike that boxing is mostly run by promoters and that the best fighters get away with ducking each other constantly.

So boxing infrastructure vs MMA? Absolutely I appreciate the criticism. Although, that said, the UFC is also not perfect and White is a greedy **** that needs to pay his fighters better.

But the actual sport itself? Give me a decent boxing match over a decent MMA bout any day. Obviously a complete mismatch in boxing might not be interesting but you get those in the UFC too, just less frequently because of the above mentioned.

So you agree with what i said basically. "give me a decent boxing match" When does a decent boxing match happen though? Every 5 months or so? UFC has a PPV one a month at least in which there is a championship on the line. Having a belt on literally every boxing fight ive watched makes it look so tinpot too

Yeah and they're all fvcking boring to me. Is my point.

In fact it's not even a point I'm just stating a preference. Like I said, I've tried multiple times to get in to mma, I've watched quite a lot of UFC events, stayed up til silly am in the morning to get to main events.

It just doesn't interest me that much.

Not sure if there is a UFC thread but if you dont ATM i suggest people who are feeling disinterested in boxing to start following MMA. UFC consistently pit the best vs the best and as the money isn't as good in UFC fighters are a lot more active than boxing. You'll get champions fighting 3/4 times a year

Unfortunately, if your in it for the technical skill instead of the violence, Boxing can get as bad as it wants but UFC will always be shite in comparison.

No decent boxing match happen fairly frequently, it just won’t be A list headline fights all the time. I really enjoyed Denzel Bentleys world title fight against the the current Khazac world champion who’s name I can pronounce but have no intention of trying to spell.

The top of the game headline fights is where the problem is. Eubank De Gale, Fury Chisora, Whyte Povetkin, Why are paying for this shit.

And also I’m fed up of paying for it, I’ve probably gone paying for shit for too long as I can comfortably afford it. But I’ve had enough now.

Unfortunately the likes of Hearn and Warren are intent in following the example the Americans set, where Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helanius cost £67

But as I said boxing can be as bad as it wants and UFC can be as well run as it wants, it’s still shit most of the time.

Fury talking even more bollox saying he's going to "fight a bum a month" next year by going around the world offering locals the chance to win his world titles lol

I've never heard anyone so full of shit.

I know it won't happen but I'd PMSL if Chisora caught him with a worldie punch out of nowhere and knocked him spark out.

It is what its always been since the announcement, Fury gets a few rounds to keep active and his good mate Del Boy gets his payday to see his family comfortable...I don't see it was ever anything else.

Im a massive Tyson Fury fanboy always have been but since his demolition of Wilder he's not helped himself with the direction he's taken and still not really sure what his plan is.....just fight Joshua and sail off into the sunset as the goat

That head to head with Usyk was so set up to build publicity lol

"WHERE IS HE?" As he magically walks straight over to him!

Joe Joyce popping up was just embarrassing.

"Ooooh, what about me, Tyson?"

Then Usyk gets his phone out and starts taking selfies!

Nice little pay day for the boys all done and dusted ..

on that note, Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall rematch will now be a PPV, whereas the original wasn’t.

So it’s the fans that should pay through the nose because of a corrupt decision.

Boxing is absolute poison at the moment.

Our kid’s next fight is in Liverpool against an opponent being trained by Anthony ‘Million Dollar’ Crolla!

He’s just played me a message sent to him by Crolla himself. Sounds a very decent chap

How's he been doing so far ? I imagine he's reaching a decent standard going by his next opponent.
