bluesbrothers Posted 26 July 2012 Posted 26 July 2012 To be fair, Lamey went from being one of the worst defenders I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt (under Sousa, whenever he played we were constantly hoping Neilson* of all people would replace him) to playing - well - in the Europa league for Wisla Krakow. Just another player to add to the long list of those who were/are good elsewhere, but shocking in Blue and White. * I know it's not saying much, but Neilson was actually our best defender under Sousa.

Not saying he was good in the short time he was with us but its probably a bit harsh to judge him, much like Pantsil last season. Lamey has played at a decent level throughout his career, don't think we really seen anywhere near the best of him.

Outpaced and out of position.

Deucalion Posted 26 July 2012 Posted 26 July 2012 On paper Nugent and Beckford are top quality strikers in this division. For me, Nugent has proven his quality but there are a few question marks over Beckford. I do think he will prove his quality in the Championship and I hope it's with Leicester.

And they aren't on £30,000 a week. The Nugent/Beckford partnership really wasn't that good and didn't get the best out of either, Nugent was better and needs to be starting games. As a result we've got Beckford who shouldn't be in the starting line-up starting the season on the bench. You can't have a player on those wages on the bench, and we can't be starting with the strikeforce that proved last season that it isn't good enough. The solution is to move Beckford on and make sure we get financially stable.
