Just watched first two episodes of Coldwater, since it was pushed so hard.

Why is every character a dickhead?

Not sure if it belongs in here or the films thread but the John Candy documentary on Prime is phenomenal.  I always felt like I grew up with him present on my life and was saddened when he died so young but this shows a side I wasn’t aware of and I didn’t know the demons he faced.   If it doesn’t make you smile with nostalgia and cry with sadness you’re a heartless creature!

Previous series started off well but was boring and predictable  by the end of it.

Been watching Mindhunter and I reckon this is probably the best thing Netflix have done

It's so great - universally loved too but the numbers weren't high enough to justify the cost and David Fincher and Netflix basically fell out over the latter wanting to make compromises to budget and creative vision.

There were rumours that Fincher wanted to come back to it at some point.

Another lover of Mindhunter and really hope they return to it, it’s probably had greater viewing figures since they canned it which will hopefully trigger a new series.

Another show worth watching if not already seen & like Mindhunter showcases the changes in the FBI’s profiling and forensic techniques is Manhunt: Unabomber (set mid 90s) the search for Ted Kaczynski

Well safe to say Doctor Who seems like it will be off air for some time, no production plans even for 2026. The last two series was the final nail in the coffin in what was well established BBC show, again mixture of very poor writing, poor casting, too political and just boring. Best thing for the show is to take a few years gap and reboot on the whole thing forgetting the last five years. Keep Russell T. Davies away from it.

Started watching Sneaky Pete on Netflix this week. Really enjoying it.

Tried watching Sky series Riviera on Netflix recently, got to ep 6 and then binned it off. Something about the writing made it feel like amateur hour to me.

What it needs is a darker series looking back with Paul McGann.

They had that with Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi but they decided to take more lighter tone, there trying to hard tick the typical bbc boxes. I do feel its took more LGBTQ path, doesn't feel its part of the same show ten years on.
