Isn't FFP just going to make the difference in class between championship and premier league a lot wider?

yes UEFA claim its about fair play but all FFP does is help keep the Status Quo, which they want as they want the big clubs in the Champions League

I think yes and no. Yes, Championship clubs will be forced to spend less, so this could mean the quality of the league suffers, although players may well be forced to accept lower wages if that's all they're offered. On the other hand, the division's clubs income won't be affected (at least not directly, or anywhere near as much as their expenditure will be), so they should be in a better position to compete when they are promoted since they've been forced to save money/not overspend.

Sorry but the gap between the two leagues will become even wider. The ridiculous parachute payment rules will also ensure that relegated sides have a massive advantage. It also means that should sides like us manage to get promoted in say 3 years there is likely to be needed a massive investment in players just to have a chance of surviving. Income could well be affected should the quality lessen and crowds/season ticket renewals with it.

The likes of Swansea, Norwich, Southampton, Reading all got promoted spending very little (Swansea made a profit the year they were promoted), and the former both did well without spending much on investment when they got there.

It's not guaranteed to make much difference at all. Personally I think the major impact will (as some point out) from those coming down who will have even more to spend compared to the rest.

I don't think quality will lessen, players wages are just going to have to. We might have less foreign players coming over for a pay day, but the quality of foreigner in this league isn't that great anyway.

I dont know enough about Deleat to make a judgement call.. but i had respect for Peltier, a good player undervalued and underused in my opinion.

Underused? He played 44 times last season - more than most in the team.

Who, who and who?

Ollie Murs?

I saw him play for Robbies team at Wembley recently and thought he looked ok out on the wing.

For City though .. Not sure

Fair point :)

mind you as seen from the post below yours... the undervalued part remains.

it concerns me that a player we used 44 times last year..has been sold

Just because we played him 44 times last season, dosnt mean we cant find somebody better to play LB. I dont think we bought him with the intention of playing him every game, we had to because Pantsil turned out to be as effective as a cardboard cutout.

He's a right back.

Full-back Lee Peltier was also at Belvoir Drive for the start of pre-season, although his move to Leeds is still expected to go through.

City are understood to have agreed a fee with Leeds, which is believed to be £600,000, and it is now down to the Yorkshire club to finalise the deal.

Peltier's former club Huddersfield are reportedly also interested in taking the right-back, however, Peltier is expected to complete his move to Leeds instead.

From the Mercury.
