Hinckleyfox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Well chuffed with this. The amount of times we lost points last season because we couldn't defend is what cost us promotion. The defenders we have signed really makes me believe we will be able to defend a lead! Couldn't give a rats ass if it's not that pretty, hopefully that will come with time but first things first, let's get water tight at the back. We finally have a bit of depth in defence and hopefully this will mean our midfield can be a bit more creative and less defensive. Although do agree with most at we could do with a ball breaking CDM.
Ashley Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Next year, I think this will be the standings from 1st choice to last choice CB: - Morgan - Whitbread - SSL - Gerrard - Taft Tafty is decent at left back. Got a MONSTER throw also
kingfox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Not happy with this, will be just like Matt Mills. So expect some rants from me if he plays shite.
MGLCFC Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Not happy with this, will be just like Matt Mills. So expect some rants from me if he plays shite. Except £2.5 million cheaper
ian the fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I doubt if he could be as bigger w******** as Mill Tbf
Simmo86 Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Not happy with this, will be just like Matt Mills. So expect some rants from me if he plays shite. Victim?
kingfox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Victim? Tbh yes. Guy is rubbish, why buy a Cardiff City fourth choice centre back, just to make him our fourth choice centre back just doesn't make sense. If he is gonna be fourth choice, he will just get frustrated and kick up a fuss like Mills did, he is exactly like Mills a massive bighead. At least if he went to Millwall or Bristol City he would get a game. If we start Morgan and Gerrard god help us.

Gerrard will be stand in for whitbread when he's injured which will be most of the time ....look we all have opinions on gerrard but let's not hammer him when he's not played a game...I think he will be a leader and win over all the city fans.
Toffee_Fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Or maybe the lad might appreciate a club which is a little closer to home instead of him travelling to Cardiff from Warrington for training, just a thought? Met Ant many a time, good player, has worked under the manager before, is a cheaper option both wages and fee than Peltier and knows he will be a squad player but will work hard for first team football. The club don't have the money to buy players like Berra or Chester whilst other players on big wages are clinging on, as said for a while now the club still need to sell before they can buy players which you might be more happy with.
kingfox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Good isn't Mark, bet you can't wait for a little rant on the post match thread after one of our games this season about Gerrard. He is just another Mills same type player, same problems, same overrated bighead. Gerrard will be stand in for whitbread when he's injured which will be most of the time ....look we all have opinions on gerrard but let's not hammer him when he's not played a game...I think he will be a leader and win over all the city fans. I have also decided to give De Laet and James a chance some fans might be shocked that I am even saying that. But Gerrard no, he is getting it big time from the get go. Overrated ****.
Legend_in_blue Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Kingfox you are being a tad harsh. Personally IMO we need an absolute **** in our team because we're too lightweight and don't have enough attitude. We're a pushover as of last season but this now needs to end. Reserve judgement until you've at least seen him play.

Is the situation really that bad or are the Thais reluctant to give money like baby in a candy shop to NP as they saw the consequences of what Sven did?, is this why we have to sell Beckford so we can bring in the targets we need?
Bert Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Is the situation really that bad or are the Thais reluctant to give money like baby in a candy shop to NP as they saw the consequences of what Sven did?, is this why we have to sell Beckford so we can bring in the targets we need? It's not so much that, a lot of it is down to FFP.
Toffee_Fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 You don't need to sell him, but if you want someone in on the type of wages a quality championship player would demand then some have to go, Mills has gone but I said even after him players would need to go, there is too many squad players on key player wages so to speak, they have to take into consideration the wage bill but also FFP. Also expect to see one or two young lads go out on loan next week.
Jace Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 All this talk about FFP makes me think a new £500 million King Power sponsorship deal should be made

So in short Beckford and his agent don't want to leave (I imagine because of the money he's on) and Leicester want him off the wage bill?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I have also decided to give De Laet and James a chance some fans might be shocked that I am even saying that. You're giving players time to prove their worth in a City shirt before you begin demonising them?! How generous and rational of you. What a turd.
dannythefox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Never really watched him closely but he always looks to be carrying a bit of weight!

Toffee_Fox Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I don't really know what you mean there, but I doubt you'll see a signing like James Chester who will be a good wage and a good fee basically until some more big guns are gone.
Jaspa Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 I don't really know what you mean there, but I doubt you'll see a signing like James Chester who will be a good wage and a good fee basically until some more big guns are gone. How soon do you think Beckford will be off then ?
Bluetintedspecs Posted 5 August 2012 Posted 5 August 2012 Not happy with this, will be just like Matt Mills. So expect some rants from me if he plays shite. Ihope NP reads this forum Kingfox and takes note of you reasoned , informative and highly educated points.Though I'm sure if he had he would not have made the signings he has.

Who are the other big guns then? Obviously Beckford, I'm guessing Konch who they'd let go and maybe Danns, Nuge and Kasper who are on the wedge but they'd rather keep. Or was it a big pay day free for all for the likes of King and Wellens as well?!
