Stadt Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 well possible in-forms coming for Ronaldo & Ibra on FIFA then EA are moist.
Koke Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Never been on the Zlatan bandwagon. Good player but meh...
ScouseFox Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Currently France and Portugal going the World Cup Hope France hold on. Shame they weren't joined by Iceland and an even bigger shame they were joined by Greece. Oh well.
Kitchandro Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Currently France and Portugal going the World Cup Hope France hold on. Shame they weren't joined by Iceland and an even bigger shame they were joined by Greece. Oh well. Strange preferences. France are a bunch of nancy boys who disgraced the tournament in more ways that one in 2010. Very unlikeable group of players. Croatia have the odd decent player and usually make a fist of their group, not to mention their passionate fans. There's no good reason to dislike Greece either, plucky side who stopped a horrible cheating Portugal team winning the Euros once. Portugal better hope Ronaldo is in this kind of form in Brazil because otherwise they'll be a stain on the world cup once again. Other than him they are unbearable to watch - talented players who choose to play negatively and start rolling around on the floor and slow the game down as soon as they go one up.
MC Prussian Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 01. Brazil 02. Japan 03. Australia 04. Iran 05. South Korea 06. Netherlands 07. Italy 08. Costa Rica 09. United States 10. Argentina 11. Belgium 12. Switzerland 13. Germany 14. Colombia 15. Russia16. Bosnia/Herzegovina 17. England 18. Spain 19. Chile 20. Ecuador 21. Honduras 22. Nigeria 23. Ivory Coast 24. Cameroon 25. Ghana 26. Algeria 27. Greece 28. Croatia 29. Portugal 30. France 31. (Uruguay) 32. (Mexico) That's it. Group stages draw up next on 6th of December. Seeded teams for Pot 1: Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Uruguay and Switzerland. I take it all remaining 24 teams will be distributed amongst those first eight.

Greece are one of the dullest, most depressing teams to watch, and have been at every tournament bar 2004. And they were pretty boring then, too. Iceland would've been exciting, new team and all that, I've got nothing against Croatia, would've just liked Iceland. Ronaldo is the best player in the world and it would've been a travesty if he wasn't at the World Cup. Ukraine are very boring and France aren't. Ukraine are a pretty nasty, turgid side, France have potential to play some good stuff and if they're mentally right they could do something. Much more exciting and interesting that Ukraine.

You make some fair points. I accept France are a more interesting side than Ukraine, I just couldn't bring myself to be pleased they've qualified after the last one. And yes Ronaldo really should be at the world cup, and tonight proved why, Portugal as a team though I despise (and if I'm honest, I despise Ronaldo too, despite the fact he's out of this world as a player). Greece can be dull but they've also got potential for an upset, I can think of a number of exciting/dramatic matches over the years - at the last Euros 3 out of their 4 matches were pretty entertaining. They gain a reputation as a boring side because they won Euro 2004, but there are many sides as and more boring that them, it's just nobody gives a shit about them because they're crap and always lose. Frankly Karagounis on his own is enough to entertain me for 90 minutes, the man is hilarious.
Guest shearfox Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Give us Switzerland and we might just get out the group

Pretty much my thoughts too. Greece are one of the dullest and tedious sides. They, along with Switzerland, stink up every tournament. Iceland - Croatia.. No preference. Though Iceland are the minnows and I like a fairytale story. I like Ronaldo. Sweden are a bog standard side. Ukraine are dull, France aren't. France got high calibre players and will produce 10x more entertainment than Ukraine. Unless it all goes tits up for them again like 2010.
MC Prussian Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Give us Switzerland and we might just get out the group I can see England being drawn in a group with either Brazil, Argentina, Colombia or Uruguay.
purpleronnie Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 Real shame Ibra wont be there, or the swedish fans.

I'm not normally a vindictive man but I do hope it does again. They've still got some karma to be paid back for what Henry did. And it was funny as all hell last time to see them all falling out. As for Portugal - I think Ronaldo is a cvnt but he's a fantastic, fantastic player. I agree with Kitch though that as a whole Portugal are a bunch of diving (insert expletive here) and that's more of a stain on a tournament than any Greece-style boring side, despite how well they might be able to play. They're going to need Ronaldo on form because if he goes missing (as he has done every time thus far in the truly big WC or Euro knockout games for his country) they'll be out pretty quick.
Jonezy Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Scandinavia annihilated from the World Cup..... Guess I'll just hope someone can stop Spain's reign of terror. Maybe the up and comers from Belgium will get my sympathy this time around.
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Not happy that Sweden won't be there but a World Cup without Ronaldo would be ridiculous right now.
Bert Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 I can see England being drawn in a group with either Brazil, Argentina, Colombia or Uruguay. Bar Brazil, i'd be happy with that. If we can avoid Germany and Spain for the group stages i'd be confident of us making it out of the group.
Super_horns Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Ronaldo would be ridiculous right now. I know Portugal are much more than just Ronaldo but he could win the World Cup by himself given a chance... He's bound to get at least one goal per match.
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Fair play to Ronaldo for finishing them but who played those first and third passes? Absolutely unbelievable. As for Ronaldo winning the world cup alone, eh, pretty sure people said that last time and he was awful. As were Portugal.
Samilktray Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Switzerland are 1 of the top seeds and at the world cup next year but Zlatan isnt. There is no justice in this world of ours.

I know it's almost twenty years ago, but how about this for a tedious game? Or the 2-0 win over Togo? Dull enough? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OiwDIabGPQ
Super_horns Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 A couple of 4-1 wins for England will do nicely next summer Roy. Fair point Finnegan!

Teams enter the World Cup, not single players. But the thought of a Zlatan World Cup is a fantastic idea - he has all summer to play against himself. Nice attempt at a wind-up, by the way. So sad you don't display your antics that often anymore.
